While you won't get free chalupas this season at the Moda Center, you will have the option of stuffing your face with some of the finest food Portland has to offer with the addition of four local restaurants and food carts -- Bunk Sandwiches, Fire On The Mountain Buffalo Wings, Killer Burger and Sizzle Pie -- to the Moda Center concourse.

“Bringing new life and excitement to the Rose Quarter is strategically important to the business direction of our organization as an entertainment company,” said Trail Blazers President and CEO Chris McGowan via press release. “We know the value of a positive food and beverage experience, and we’ve heard our fans say they want more locally-sourced selections from restaurants and vendors they recognize. These new options represent major steps in that direction.”

The additions of Bunk, Fire On The Mountain, Killer Burger and Sizzle Pie are one of the first major changes implemented in terms of food service at the Moda Center since Ovations Food Services was replaced by Levy Restaurants in April.

“Pairing the action on the court with the dynamic flavors of the Portland culinary scene takes Blazermania to a new height this year,” said Michael Pulscak, Executive Chef for Levy Restaurants. “We are excited to partner with home town artisans, chefs and restaurateurs to bring the very best of the City into the arena.”

The team has also announced that local "Guest Chefs" will offer "signature dishes and award-winning recipes" in the Courtside Club and Sphere bar. No official word on what restaurants those guest chefs will hail from.

While I've never been to Sizzle Pie or Killer Burger, I can fully endorse the additions of Bunk and Fire On The Mountain. Bunk is one of my Top 3 places to get a sandwich in Portland, while Fire On The Mountain, particularly the original location on Interstate Avenue, is my go-to spot for chicken wings. Their Spicy Peanut sauce is as good as wing sauce gets.

If the prices aren't too ridiculously marked up; I may actually eat food at Blazers games now. All of those places are quality food.

Wow now that is good news! Before all I usually ate was the Nacho's at the Smokehouse BBQ kiosk. Nice to see some real food coming.

Do you think they will still be doing their remote shows from Buffalo Wild Wings?

My guess is yes, since I believe BWW is a sponsor while Fire on the Mountain is a Kisok that pays just to be there and sell stuff. All speculation on my part though.

First good news I've heard about concessions at the arena in ... ever?

Now we know why Raymond Felton was upset earlier this week!

Ha! if the prices aren't too ridiculously marked up...that's rich!

I'm still a little ticked at the organization over the whole Tony Roma's fiasco.

I recently had my first Killer Burger and it was great!

They have a happy hour from 2-5 and have 2 of their burgers on sale for $5 each. Pay $2 to make any burger a fatty adding another patty. They come with bacon and fries.

All four of those places rock! I hope the prices aren't too marked up. It'll make me actually want to buy food at the games this year. Sometimes I get a frozen yogurt or, rarely, a dish at the bbq cart.

That's what I want to know. Will a Killer Burger cost $10 at the Moda Center?

Being from Boise I have always wanted to try Fire On The Mountain since most people seem to rave about it but have never had a chance to with the games have gone to so now it will be much easier to do so next game I go to.

FotM is good, but it is not AMAZING. Pok-pok's wings in my opinion are better. Compared to BWW's they may seem amazing, but BWW is crap!

Word.
In this case your opinion is not opinion, but indeed fact.

That'd be great - that markup is entirely reasonable. Heck, that's what I pay for the Barnyard! If I can get a Barnyard at a Blazer game for the normal price this'll be great news.
Unfortunately I suspect it'll be closer to, and perhaps north of, $15.

Get the Bourbon Chipotle, Jamaican Jerk or El Jeffe.
