Believe it or not, the mods consider the word "clueless" as a personal insult and I was banned from a thread for 48 hours. I felt it was extremely clueless on their part, lol.
Whats the line and where it should be is subjective. When my wife calls me clueless she’s certainly not congratulating me for my wisdom. I also dont get to ban her from bothering me 48 hours heh. :)

Then half the damn dictionary is an insult.

In my case, the poster made a personal comment about me that was totally fabricated and I said, "you are clueless as that's not even remotely true."

Half of it could maybe be used as an insult, but the words themselves arent insults, its the context their used in most of the time.
"You're clueless" is about the same as saying "you're stupid". At least, thats what I've been told!

Exactly. So when one person tells another person half their age, they are ignorant or clueless about a topic the elder has experience in, its nOt an insult. Its just a fact.

Dude, that wasnt all it was, but again, this is over with. Stop. You can talk to me tomorrow in person if you really feel the need to.

Damn straight. Cant have a conversation with someone who thinks he is always right.
Kind of comical that I'm the one who has to tell you when to stop over and over and over again.

Calling someone ignorant or clueless is a personal insult.

I dont know @hoopsjock? You dont think hes one of the brightest basketball minds in here?

Isnt a coach that nobody knows better than a random industrial worker nobody knows?

Being able to teach players how to properly set a acreen is a "fantasy idea"? You're being silly. Move along.
This is exactly what i'm talking about.
First you say some silly novice minded crap.
Then someone calls you on it and like usual we try to reason with you.
But then of course you can't handle the truth and because it's multiple people calling you on it so you have to muddy the waters.
Then you change it up and bring in your stand by Hoops and hope maybe another will jump in by your side.
But this time i ain't buying it. And neither is anyone else.

I understand and agree but, at what point is it ok to say, “I dont think you know what you’re talking about based on my experience”?
I think a few posters are saying thats what they mean by saying, “You’re clueless”.

“I dont think you know what you’re talking about based on my experience”?

That's perfect. It encourages the person to respond about the topic being discussed. Saying someone is ignorant or clueless just leads to arguments and further insults.

There is so much more that goes into screening...

Timing, changing the angle of the screen based on how the defense is playing the handler or off ball player, craftiness and subtlety to gain advantage / avoid moving screens I could go on.

A lot of it is mentality as well which isn't very easily coached into players, especially professionals.
You forgot covering your manhood. Some of us need to work harder than others at this for obvious reasons....

What are you supposed to call people who start hate threads, are almost universally panned, then 10 pages later STILL
has no further comment in the thread.

Fucktards? Jackasses? Assholes? What's your term for it?

Hmmm isnt that subjective to the recipient though?
So, because the speaker is ignorant as to how the recipient will view the word, which is simply the same as the sentence, without having to type the sentence out, the speaker must then assume the recipient will not comprehend the word, as meaning as such?

Why is a word created to provide meaning to a sentence an insult? This does not equate.
