We have troops on the ground fighting terrorists and extremists hand to hand and gun to gun. What do you think our troops are doing in those countries? Having a smoke?

Just because troops are deployed doesn't make it war. Yes there is a war in Iraq, but there is not a global war on terrorism.

But they are fighting the terrorists. Yes, the War on Terror has a lot of intelligence screening it but you are forgetting the most important part: the front lines. We are using plenty of bombing campaigns, raids, firefights, etc. This is a war, there really is no doubt about it.

Yes, in Iraq, but it is not a GLOBAL aka world war. We're involved in a few countries, but not every country is being seriously affected by this war, so it isn't a world war.
