Bush to send 20,000 troops to Iraq

I was watching the news today, and it seems that president Bush will now send 20,000 troops to Iraq, of which 9,000 will be assigned to Bahgdad. Does anyone here think that this will help stop insurgency? I dont think so personally, but what are your views on this?

Why don't we all just admit we have no idea whats going on in Iraq. I know I don't. Their has to be a reason for it, I'm not going to pretend that I know. All I know is, not many US soldiers are getting killed.

The point is we are fighting the hardest type of war which is with gurellia forces. We went over to Iraq to stop more attacks on the US and to rid of terrorist forces starting with the biggest and most dangerous to us al-Queda and the Taliban. We have done great so far and now we are working on helping Iraq get back on their feet with security ect.(Which is proving more difficult and dangerous than anyone thought) but we need to do this to prevent future attacks on the US, and thats why the military is there. RIP to all those have died for Peace and the US and get home safe to those who are still there. I have family that has served and is serving in Iraq and Afghanistan among which my uncle who was a sergeant for the 5th special forces received a bronze star and an honorable discharge from the army. I know the pain of not being able to see loved ones, but this was needed for safety.

Al-Qaeda and radical Islam had nothing to do with why we went into Iraq. We didn't go into Iraq to stop attacks in our country, Iraq or it's people had never attacked America or any US station throughout the world. We went there to get rid of a government we didn't like. You seem to have things confused and don't seem to understand the region or terrorism in general.

I'm worried about my dad right now, he was already told he needed to get prepared because he has a good chance of going over to Iraq. He's a military police officer, that's one of the most needed jobs over there.
