Buying a new phone from NewEgg.

I'm with Verizon and my plan is currently up. I'm also 11 days away from the "new every two". I want to get a Droid X and NewEgg has them for a hundred bucks instead of the 200 I would pay at verizon or the 170 I would pay if I waited the 11 days for the New Every Two to kick in.
So my question is: Does anyone know if there is any catch with getting a phone threw a retailer like NewEgg instead of Verizon? Do I have to jump threw a bunch more hoops, or is it pretty much the same as if I bought it from Verizon?
