I really dislike buying school supplies, especially with 3 in school starting this fall. The one part that really burns me up though is the crayons. The 24 pack is always on sale for less than the 8 pack or 16 pack of crayons, but no school ever puts the 24 pack on the list, so once again, the cpaw family will be sending in 8 extra crayons per box. </p>

</p>

If your kid's school ever has a PTA that offers in the spring to accept payment for all of the fall supplies to be delievered to your kid's classroom, do it. Even if it appears to be a little pricey, the time savings are well worth it. We got to do that three years ago in another state and it was great. </p>

Wisconsin prepackaged school supplies delivered to the classroom FTW!</p>

I only ever had the 24 pack of crayons. Never got those 64 or 128 or 256 packs of crayons that some kids got. </p>

Read an article a few years ago where the majority of office theifs happen right now.</p>

No wonder you dont' have a 360 or a ps3, your wasting all your money on crayons!

Not that I need school supplies for anything, but I'm going to stock up on really cheap pens, just because I can.

Bah. We got an Xbox for Christmas 2004 and there is no reason to "upgrade"</p>

Plus, it was extremely painful to purchase a micro$oft product </p>

And notebooks. One can never have too many 70 page spiral bound notebooks for 10 cents each.

... you guys are nuts. Just takes up space. The space is worth having to spend $2 if you have to buy a notebook or box of pens down the line.</p>

the school supply thing is a very sore subject with me....standard on the lists here are reams of copy paper and coffee filters....like my kindergartner is going to spend a bunch of time making copies and drinking coffee this year....maybe we can buy you some ash trays too!....the crayon thing pisses me off to no end because the 24 pack is ALWAYS 8 cents, but they need the freaking 12 pack and its always 85 cents....most of you have never experienced this, but wait until you get your 1st supply list in a few years....you are going to be pissed too....

Why can't you just buy the 24 pack anyway? Don't they have the 12 colors in there?

Christ... I don't even know where to begin.</p>

What's the big deal about crayons? So the kid has a couple extra colors

Yeah, whats the difference.</p>

From what I remember my school supplies back in the day just said crayons, no need for a specific pack or nothing. </p>

They do. The thing that depends is what the teacher does with them. In classroom where all the crayons get put into buckets for the kids to use, no problem. But if the teacher has each of the kids keep a pack at their desk, then you get nasty little notes about how the kids need to be equal.</p>

Equality is BS.</p>

</p>

I get f'ed over by equality because I'm in a class above people, so all I'm doing is getting grouped in with the masses of dumbasses.</p>

Just wait a few years Mike. You'll see, especially with the area that you are moving to.

Obviously, KC always had the 48 pack of crayons when he went to school

That is the dumbest thing I ever heard. </p>

They worry about how many crayons the kids have but they let the teasing and bullying slide. </p>

Who said anything about rulers?</p>

I was about to say.. isn't cpaw a little old for school supplies? </p>

The real pain for me will be when it becomes time to purchase textbooks. I have about 30+ books from past semesters that I haven't been able to sell back. </p>

college text books are the biggest racket since insurance was invented....

Did anyone else see those commercials for the school supplies with built in speakers? </p>

Sounds like a bad idea. </p>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>college text books are the biggest racket since insurance was invented....</div></p>

Yep, when I was in college they always managed to have a new addition to the textbook at the time I tried to sell mine back to the bookstore, therefore rendering it obsolete!!! </p>

 </p>

If I get a nasty little note about equality it might send me over the edge. I'm this close to wanting to home school em anyway.

I never believed in the whole school supplies thing. I used to steal pencils and buy 99cent paper. Poor black kids dont get into the whole craze of school supplies. honestly all you need for school is a pencil and paper anyway.
