Buzz: The Rangers Are Exploring Things

Oh and btw...buzz..really...it doesn't take a genious to think that the rangers would be looking to make a trade...but here is the million dollar question. ..what team is as desperate as the rangers tjat can afford to give up a proven goal scorer?

the dimished mind of a soon to be 40 year old

So after 23 regular season games experience the Rangers should give up on Kreider and JT Miller and his 26 games of experience? Aside from Richards and Callahan this year the whole team is playing like garbage whether it's AV or just a general lack of talent still remains to be seen 7 games in, a few of the Rangers losses have been to very good West Coast teams.

Every year starstruck Chuck thinks there is that magic bullet to bring home the Cup. First it was a must to sign Richards in the off-season salary cap be damned, then it was Nash despite the history of injuries and some questions about full-season effort, now it's some random 20 goal scorer for youth. There are a lot of 20 goal scorers who come to NYC, can't handle the pressure, become the bane of fans and leave with their tail between their legs to end up resuming their success in another city. As far as MDZ goes I would pay him what Girardi makes all day come negotiation time, he is averaging half a point per game and a career -5 and I think there is still upside to his game. Staal and Girardi are career +3 but get a pass from most on their equally inept play this year, you pretty much know what you have with Girardi and Staal may show some sign of his former defensive prowess but he's no offensive juggernaut. I'm still optimistic about AV bringing offense to the Rangers when he gets his full team back, just needs to stop being so stubborn with Pyatt (please cut loose), the Hobbit (ditto) and Boyle (Marcel Hossa 2.0).

Who said the team should give up on Miller and Kreider? I don't think anyone is pushing for that. If the Rangers could get a great package for either of those guys, sure, but outside of that no one is coming on here saying they must deal Miller and/or Kreider.

On top of that, I said they didn't need another star. My opinion was add another solid vet scorer who can net 20 or so goals and I will be happy. So starstruck...swing and a miss buddy.

Lastly, I have been saying what you said. Pyatt needs to be gone. The guy is useless. And worse yet is AV loves him for some reason. Plays him on the PK. Plays him on the 1st line. I am sure it is due to them being together in the past, but whatever the reason is, it is not good.

Let's bottom line this thing, without Hags, Cally, and Nash we stink. That is it. Our lineup is below average with those guys, without them it is a minor league lineup. That's reality people. And what's happens from here will honestly depend largely on how quickly Cally and Nash can return. Cally could be out another 3 weeks. Nash hasn't even stepped on the ice since getting hurt. So I think we are in some trouble. At this point it would be impossible to not be concerned about Nash IMO. Who knows when he will be back. The guy has concussion issues now, and that is scary.

That's just the way it is. We'll see if we can overcome things, but without Hags (should be back game 11), Cally, and Nash I don't love our chances. And that's just being honest.

We can only improve with other kids in the league who do not make much. Right now only Sabres and Oilers are looking for a trade.

LOVE THIS THREAD. Every year the Rangers are exploring. It has been 14+ years
and Mr. Sather is still exploring ....and still cannot get it right. He continues to dump
draft picks for under performing hockey players. About half of the players on the
team cannot get him extra picks. Teams that were worse than the Rangers are
steadily improving and by-passing them. Can it be that people in the organization
are continually under performing and not getting the right players? The Rangers
are always regressing so they can be an average team. They seem never to get
beyond mediocrity. It is frustrating rooting for mediocrity.

NY pro teams suck big time.

Play the kids SINK OR SWIM. I am convinced more than ever that the only
way to turn this team around is to play the young players. The only way
they will gain experience is under NHL conditions. This year will be tough
to watch, but in 2 or 3 years they HOPEFULLY will have proven themselves
and this team will take on the better teams.

Look what has happened on Long Island. The Islanders have struggled for
the last some odd years. Now look at them. They have obtained very talented
hockey players and they have meshed into a formidable hockey team.......
they have passed my Rangers again. Stop the merry-go-round and start
developing new blood.......instead of somebodyelse's problem.
Sather has fiddled too long with this team.

Eyes with another stellar post. By "they have obtained very talented hockey players," you mean they had the first overall pick a few years ago and took guy who is arguably a top 5 talent in the NHL and makes everyone around him better?
