Ex-Spy Who Reportedly Assembled Trump Dossier Appears To Be In Hiding

The Guardian reports that the former intelligence agent spent two years living in Moscow in the '90s and continued to specialize in Russia during his later career at MI6. The newspaper writes:

"[Steele] was, sources say, head of MI6's Russia desk. When the agency was plunged into panic over the poisoning of its agent Alexander Litvinenko in 2006, the then chief, Sir John Scarlett, needed a trusted senior officer to plot a way through the minefield ahead — so he turned to Steele.

"It was Steele, sources say, who correctly and quickly realised Litvinenko's death was a Russian state 'hit.' "

As you might expect with a story about a spook, all the published reporting on Steele relies heavily on anonymous sources. NPR has not independently confirmed any of these details.

But according to all available accounts, Steele was well-regarded within intelligence circles both for his work at MI6 and for his private security work after he left the spy service.

The Guardian reports that Steele, in his early 50s, is an Oxford graduate and was "one of the more eminent Russia specialists" at the British spy agency.

"Former colleagues of Steele describe him as 'very credible' — a sober, cautious and meticulous professional with a formidable record," the newspaper writes.

Reuters reports that with Orbis Business Intelligence, Steele investigated corruption at FIFA and passed the information on to the FBI.
 
The funny thing is even if this turns out to be true it won't change anyone's minds about Trump. The pro Trumpers will still love him and the anti Trumpers will still hate him.

Sorry Blue, but I have to side with Dviss on this one. I rarely agree with him on anything, but this is one of those times where I do.

People need to stop listening to the media; all of it. The political elites in this country, on both sides, are using the media to score points for their base by using any ol' bunch of bullshit they can dig up, no matter how stupid it is. Whether it's bitching about Trump's tweets, or Hillary's $12,000 pantsuits.

Pedo rings in pizza parlors? That shit almost got people killed because some nutcase was actually stupid enough to believe it.

Yes I did, but big difference. This "dossier" was made up, with no real evidence to draw from. However the pizzagate, I started it to talk about it to see what people thought about the REAL verified emails that people were drawing conclusions from.

I never said it was true. I thought it was interesting that they were talking in code and some places were using what seemed to be pedo symbols on their logos. Coincidence? Maybe.

Pizzagate and this are completely different. Pizzagate actually has real information to draw conclusions from. This 35 page dossier is a troll campaign made up. Also MSM didn't do pizzagate, that was people from Reddit/Voat.

Very likely, I don't go there often, so I was just trying to follow the comments in the threads on Reddit about this. Either way, the dossier is pretty much fan fiction.
