 Idiots.

Out of business.

Thank God.

Well I had been planning to get a job there at some point... now I'll focus on Best Buy.

Yea, their prices sucked. Serves em' right. I hope Target is next.

Target is the shit. I'd be shocked if they folded. Their main competition is Wal-Mart but in the San Francisco area there are no walmarts (due to lack of rights/beneftis for their workers I believe) and I would imagine its the same in many other urban areas. They'll probably always have that niche as long as Wal Mart remains shrewd and K-Mart and other similar competitors are long gone.

Didn't Ron Artest apply to work at Circuit City so he could get the employee discount? LOL

Yeah I hope Target isn't next. I prefer going there instead of Walmart for many reasons.

In my hometown, we have Walmart, Target, K-Mart, and Shopko.

Megastore win.

Don't see Target going down. I'd imagine KMart and Shopko fold first before Target.

Target going down is a joke.

KMart is still around?

Target has higher prices than Wal*Mart and Krogers, but that's okay because I think they have employee benefits. Wal*Mart hires a lot of part time employees in order to excuse not providing any employee benefits. It's part of Sam Walton's strategy to cut costs. I hate the fact that I still shop their. I'll stop being a hypocrite when this college thing ends.

Hey, that's my plan for summer work. You can't knock the benefits for some people that Walmarts employment strategy brings.

It's is shame to see companies go down though. W.H. Smith and some coffee shop folded a few weeks ago in the UK.

I haven't gone to Circuit City since I was like 16. It really started sucking and Best Buy blows them away

That would explain it, seeing as I went into Smith's today :P

There is one Circuit City I know of and they are having a massive sale. I think I should just go in there and steal stuff. What can they say to me "Excuse me sir! We need to burn those things! Please put them back!". I need a new stereo anyway.

I wonder how much 360s, Halo 3, and NBA 2k9 are going for over there.

I went on Saturday, and the sales were nothing special at all. I'm sure they'll go down, but you gotta luck out and get there when that happens.

Woolies had a beastly sale, I got Wild Hogs on DVD for £3 (I was gonna put that in dollars, but I don't know the exchange rate :P)

The sales were crap.

Pretty much everything was 10% off. Wii games were 30% off.

It was 10% off PS3's, full price for Wii/360's. Gamecubes were 50% off, but who wants that?

The Christmas sales were much better.

Shopko still exists? We had one here in Cedar Rapids, but they folded a loooong time ago. I'm also shocked KMart still exists around here considering how little business they do.

Kmart was bought by Sears, that is the only reason it is still around.

I just saw a going out of business CC commercial. LMAO. I've never seen such an upbeat commercial in my life.

right now at the circuit city here, everything is at least 10% off. tvs are all 15% off and there are various items 20 or 30% off but that's the most right now.

i'd assume it will be worth stopping by a circuit city in a month or so when the sales should be much better just to see what's left.

Circuit City were better then Best Buy by far. Matched prices with them and always beat them by quite a bit when I ask them for further discounts. Oh well, I'll just have to drive out to Fry's Electronics from now on.

tigersdirect.com
newegg.com
monoprice.com
slickdeals.net

Those are the only way to go these days. Frys is the best if you are impatient and want it RIGHT NOW!

Yeah I always thought that if one just brings up the price from some competitor, they would match it. There was a real nice CC nearby so I feel bad for them. Hopefully they can rebound somehow, or continue in some other venture.

We have a Tigers Direct store here and I personally don't like it. They have pretty high prices. At Fry's I find TVs, games and more for around 20% or more off the price anywhere else. For instance expensive new PC games you find elsewhere for $49.99 I will find them at Fry's for around $21.99 to $29.99. Fry's website doesn't do it justice because in-store prices here are much different. I never shop online with them. I've never tried newegg.com, monoprice.com or slickdeals.net. Thanks for the recommendations.

monoprice for ANYTHING audio related....especially wall mounts for LCD/Plasma TV's. I got their best one they have that can hold a 60inch LCD tv with reinforced aluminum extension arms for pivoting left and right, also pivots up and down. Under $100 shipped...those things go for up to $400-500 if you bought them in a store
