nice game by pau and bynum last night, chicago is severely devoid of frontcourt help. 18/9/3 from bynum, pau 34/6. not to mention 10/8 from odom. id like to see lma and oden both go for 26 tonight and beat those total numbers, with some help from outlaw and/or pryz.

Time for you to wave the white flag. Bottom line is Bynum's knee is a greater concern than GO's. Once those tendons start getting loose, it's tough to stop future dislocations.

Hard to tell, really. He plays next to Gasol which is a much better PF than what the Warriors have - so we might not see all that Bynum can do - but I disagree with the complete dissing of Beadrins that DaRizzle shows - he is a real center and a very good one. It is clearly untrue to say that they have no center - as he is pretty much on the same level as Bynum - might be a little better or a little worse - but that's about it.

Not taking anything away from Oden, he's gonna be a stud in this league if he can manage to stay healthy.

But playing against Biedrins is hardly a factor. The Warriors have a horrible front line, and bigs have career games against them on regular basis. Just this season, rookie Marc Gasol scored 27 points and pulled down 16 boards against them. Ronny Turiaf, who has no skills offensively, always had high scoring, career games against the Warriors. Lamar Odom pulled down 20 boards two nights in a row against the Warriors.

So again, not taking anything away from Oden. I felt like he had a very impressive performance, but you shouldn't judge him based on a game against the Warriors.

Really? Oden is younger and better. If you had a choice, you'd choose Oden.

Actually...no. I would stick with Bynum. I think he's got the greater offensive upside. Beyond that, he's also a great rebounder and a very good defensive player too.

As for the age....Bynum is less than 3 months older....not a big deal to me.

You're blind. Oden is putting up better numbers than Bynum and he's coming off the bench in limited minutes. By the end of this season, you'll see a very clear difference. Saying you want Bynum over Oden is like saying you want Ray Allen over Kobe Bryant.

Oden's numbers are better if you don't include the two games he hardly played. The reason Bynum isn't an option ahead of Pau is because he's not better than Pau. And that's kind of the point.

You think Oden is Portland's first option? He hasn't even been starting yet, since he's still working his way back to NBA conditioning after a year of rehab. He's the fifth option or so, after Roy, Aldridge, Fernandez and Outlaw.

Again, pointing out that they're similar in numbers does Bynum no favours. Bynum should be putting up much better numbers, considering Oden is playing his very first NBA games. Tonight was his first full home game. He shouldn't be matching Bynum, a player who has learned the league for two years. The reason he is, at well under 100% shape, is because he's much more talented.

Nothing much was expected of him his first couple years...at all, so to say he has a huge edge in NBA experience is kind of a moot point. He was basically a human victory cigar as a rookie, and then in his 2nd year he was a backup to Kwame and didn't even scratch 20mpg. He didn't really get a shot until last year, and then he just exploded on to the scene in those 35 games he played in.

The other thing to throw out there in terms of experience is the fact that Oden played college ball...Bynum didn't. Even if it's not the highest level, playing college ball does help development a lot.

Oden, on the other hand, has very high expectations from everyone. No one considers him a project, at all. That's the biggest difference between him and Bynum. Bynum was a project. He didn't have an NBA ready body until his 3rd year in the league (at least for the most part) and everything about his game was really a work in progress. Oden came in to this league with an NBA ready body and already a very good know-how of how to play defense well.
