Yeah mixum, that's weird that shooting guards like Corey Brewer types aren't good free throw shooters. I think Houston really are stupid for picking him up don't you?

I marvel at him. He has only 105 posts. And it feels more 10000. He is the antithesis of the King. But his schtick is almost as funny. A very, very negative vibe.

Do you remember RoyToy?

Same guy.

I think I remember now. He was a real whip during the draft last year wasn't he?

I think roytoy disappeared after the Superbowl. Poor fella.

Really? He averages 19 mins a game...

I agree. Kaman seems to really excel when he's getting about 18 MPG. Back when he was starting, he was getting about 26 - 28 MPG and he struggled at times. It seemed like a combination of age, conditioning and losing focus. I say keep giving him about 18 MPG. It seems to keep him sharp and focused without wearing him down.

I liked the Chris Kaman we saw early in the season, and I REALLY like the Chris Kaman we are seeing now. Just keep him rolling right into the playoffs. Besides, we'll likely only have two playoff games in the 7 days after the end of the regular season. The relaxed post season schedule will give all the guys plenty of time to rest and recover between games - especially a guy who only plays about 18 minutes a night.

Wow. I had forgotten about RoyToy. Hates Batum and Aldridge. Thought we would would lose playoff series to Houston until Dame hit the shot and even then, he was critical. I'm glad he's not around anymore.

This thread makes me wonder if Crabbe can take that next step too next year

CJ is ballin right now. Confidence is soaring and he's picked up so many subtle things to the game that are all coming into place at the perfect time. He needs to embrace this bench scorer role now and Terry needs to start giving him leeway on mistakes. Now is the time to increase that leash a bit more.

Haven't been this excited about a Blazer youngin improving since Dame.

When we drafted him, and after that first Summer League, I envisioned him becoming a Vinnie Johnson type scorer off the bench that could light it up in a hurry. I think that's the perfect role for him. He doesn't really have the size to be a starting SG, or the play making/court vision to be a starting PG, but the guy can get his points. He's got a great handle and a good shooting touch. Every contending team needs a guy like that. Nice to see him growing into this role.

It was Jason Terry for me, but similar vision of CJ being a 6th man scoring machine. It's such a luxury to have that. All of those nights when our starters come out sluggish and we're down double digits have been magnified the last few years because our bench scoring has been so poor. If we got down by 10-15, it could quickly escalate to 20/25 when the subs checked in. We've had some amazing comeback wins and even more rallies that fall just short, but it would be nice not to dig those holes. Last night appeared to be one of those games. Down 10, with offense sputtering in the first CJ came in and his instant offense helped get us back in the game. It looks like the game is finally slowing down for him a bit & he's playing really well. Think it's time to change the title of this thread.

He gives his all on D as well. Color me as impressed with CJ.

Against Klay or Harden he is too small to be a good starting SG. But against the rest of the league he would be fine. The other western team starters at SG are Courtney Lee, JJ Reddick, Danny Green, Monta Ellis, Andre Robertson, Eric Gordon, Eric Bledsoe, Randy Foye, Wayne Elllington, Kevin Martin, Ben McLemore, and Rodney Hood. I don't worry about them taking McCollum into the post. His faster foot speed might even make him a superior defensiveness option compared to a bigger more physical SG. CJ has a long wingspan; he is a far superior defensive option to Lillard even though they are similar height.

But I do agree CJ probably fits best as a 6th man at either guard spots with us for the next year or so. Long term he definitely has the potential to be a starting SG. Him and Damian together would add a whole different dimension to our offensive attack.

CJ has developed into a solid rotation player. Really stepped up when Wes went down. Quick hands, good rebounder, nice stutter step and a wicked teardrop floater that Dame would like to have. I had my doubts earlier but he's changed my view going into the playoffs.

Dame does have that... he's used it a few times, at least.

The emergence of CJ will only help Portland in there attempts to retain LA. CJ gives this team another weapon and LA another reason to believe that their might be enough on this roster to get it done here. Nice timing by him.

He's also good at steals. I love CJ.

McCollum is too short for the big league. What a shrimp.

CJ's a stud. He can score in a plethora of ways and most importantly, he plays under control with the ball in his hands. I think the next step for him is to continue to improve scoring without the ball, like Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton, and JJ Redick. If we can get him going off of screens, that will open up the entire floor.
