Zombie C.J. is horrible

4.7 PPG
37 FG%
32 FG% from inside the three-point line
12.3 MPG

And these numbers are roughly the same as his rookie year numbers. Nate Wolters put up better numbers and he's on the verge of being waived.

Package him fast before he's unmovable.
Still want to trade him fast?

I ate my CJ crow when Dame went down....enough is enough damnit! :)

Its interesting how fast and unexpected opinions can change. This thread was only created last year; and it seems many would've dumped him for a late highly protected pick. Now CJ is a borderline allstar, a long-term franchise cornerstone.

Makes me wonder about Vonleh, Crabbe, and Plumlee. So many times recently us fans have talked about needing that 3rd scorer with this roster. Other times we discuss needing to bring in a free agent allstar or trade for an allstar to have a chance at contending.

But who knows what those three guys will be one, two, three years from now? The quality starters throughout the NBA change very often and unexpectedly.

Actually, some of us have been saying this all along, but I dont think many people were listening.

Im yawning now because I have probably half a dozen posts from earlier this year on this same topic and thought......
You all are just not starting to catch up. ;)

At the same age (23):

Nolan Smith: 3.8 PPG | 1.3 RPG | 1.4 APG | 12.3 MPG | 43 TS% | 7.8 PER

CJ McCollum: 4.2 PPG | 0.9 RPG | 1.0 APG | 12.4 MPG | 48 TS% | 9.2 PER

UPDATE

At the same age (24)

Nolan Smith: 2.8 PPG | .7 RPG | .9 APG | 7.11 MPG | 43.5% | 7.1 PER

CJ McCollum: 20.8 PPG | 3.5 RPG | 4.2 APG | 34.6 MPG | 53.7 TS% | 17.6 PER

12 minutes is a lot. You should be able to show something in that amount of time. I think he's a lost cause. At least for this team.

Learn the game, then post.

Glad this gets bumped up there every now and then. Perspective!

I wanted to like this guy, but I have to agree with you, he's really Nolan Smith with a decent 3pt shot right now. But he can't create his own shot, and his mid range game is terrible, so all he can do is hit open 3s he happens to get within the offense. He doesn't have PG skills.

He went to school 4 years, and has used up the rookie excuse. Right now, he is not cutting it. He looks like a Euro-player to me.

Damn he sure did improve

Daaaaamn lol

Hopefully this thread gives the few in the game threads pause when they talk about young players adjusting to the NBA.
It's very clear Collins is already better than Nards. As it's also very clear he's not NBA ready.

MM's criticism is fine. 10th pick in a deep draft should be ready to contribute right away.
Others criticism he sucks blah blah blah. Is just noise.

Don't hold your breath.

Those are games threads with many instant reactionaries commentating on our players. Of course, they are going to talk about young players adjusting to the NBA. :smiley-195517897341

I hate seeing that nerd face of his as well. The only time I get surprised is when he makes a shot. His fg % is even worse when you realize his shots are often uncontested.

OUCH!

RIP

His draft combine numbers are comparable to Curry's and Dame's. 100th of a second better than Dame and 100th of a second worse then Curry.

I don't see it as a quickness problem with him. He plays somewhat slow on purpose like Roy did a times (I not saying CJ is half the player of Roy).
Hey, don't remember this but good job me.
