Lol. CJ now has the best mid range game in the league.

OUCH!
I wanted to like this guy, but I have to agree with you, he's really Nolan Smith with a decent 3pt shot right now. But he can't create his own shot, and his mid range game is terrible, so all he can do is hit open 3s he happens to get within the offense. He doesn't have PG skills.
He went to school 4 years, and has used up the rookie excuse. Right now, he is not cutting it. He looks like a Euro-player to me.
Sinobas didn't know what he was talking about. CJ has always been able to create his own shot and has always been able to create his own shot. He did the same things in college that he's doing now.
We could get a third team involved maybe. Maybe wouldn't have to add a pick if we did something like:
POR: Wilson Chandler
NYK: JJ Hickson, Victor Claver
DEN: Andrea Bargnani (11.5M expiring), Thomas Robinson and CJ McCollum
Then we'd 2 open roster spots for Jerm and look at Ray Allen, Keith Bogans, Shannon Brown, Ronnie Brewer, Will Bynum, etc.

Sure CJ has been disappointing. I don't think even his supporters would disagree. But comparing him to Nolan Smith is a good example of why stats aren't everything. CJ is clearly a different and better basketball player than Nolan Smith. And CJ is a better shooter than he's shown. He just needs to get into an NBA rhythm. I think the hope here is that with more experience against the big boys he will catch up to the speed and toughness of the NBA game. It's too early to give up on him as a useful 6th-8th man, but I'm not opposed to trading him for an upgrade with experience who can help more in the playoffs this year. The "inexperienced player 'x' will never get it so just dump him already" mentality has become a humorous meme around here.
I stand by my post in this dated thread!!!I ate my CJ crow when Dame went down....enough is enough damnit!![]()

This thread is hilarious if you read from the beginning.
The thread is as uneven as McCollum's development was up and down. People forget now, but for the first couple of years, he had problems. (He still does, but much more subtle ones.)
That's nice and all, and this is in no way a dig at CJ, but is it a good thing to be the best at something that the NVA vies as the worst % shot?Lol. CJ now has the best mid range game in the league.

Considered the worst % shot in the NBA, so that can also mean it is the least defended shot because other teams concede it, which provides more open looks, which can skew the true percentages.
I'm fine with him taking the worst % shot in the NBA because all too often he is wide open when he does it.
You mean generally young players coming out of college have problems being consistent in the NBA?
He was an old player coming from 4 years in college
4.7 PPG
37 FG%
32 FG% from inside the three-point line
12.3 MPG
And these numbers are roughly the same as his rookie year numbers. Nate Wolters put up better numbers and he's on the verge of being waived.
Package him fast before he's unmovable.
2 weeks before the end of his college career, he was playing Navy. And Army. And Holy Cross. And you expect that he'll be ready to rock against the best defensive players on the planet immediately?
Makes you realize how special Dame was with a 23-11 in his first game. Against the L*kers. Only Oscar Robinson and Isiah Thomas ever did that. If you drop to 21-9 you can include LeBron, too.
It was just a little bit of a tease though, because those 11 assists are a bit of a rare commodity for him.
They wouldn't be if his teammates were more reliable.
because of the lolz. Why was this 3 year old hate CJ thread revived?
