He'll have to shake off the rust but in training camp he was playing so well that he was a threat to take the starting SG spot from Wes.

Mo makes many horrific plays, and freezes out better shooting teammates, or delivers the ball way too late, even when they are on a hot streak. I'd rather have the Wizard Mentor coming off the bench. Hurry CJ. You are our only hope.

Give me a quote about that.
-- Rice said it during the opening night game.Yes, CJ is our savior! That is until the Blazers get a new Rookie. I'm sure Stotts and crew see it this way also.

He is a 'hope'. I've never said he was a sure thing. I once had hope for Mo Williams, too.Yes, CJ is our savior! That is until the Blazers get a new Rookie. I'm sure Stotts and crew see it this way also.

I'm starting to agree. He pisses me off with his lazy passes and tunnel vision. But, when he's on fire he can hit. You gotta take the good with the bad. I'd like to see what McCollum take quite a bit of his minutes.

This. Except Mo's "defense" is horrible, as are his turnovers. I'm as disappointed in Wright as the next guy, but put Wright next to a point guard and I believe his effectiveness goes up. I doubt CJ fairs particularly well playing next to Mo either. I'd rather see CJ backup Wes and play next to Lillard.Mo Williams - .401 FG% The thing is, he isn't on fire very often and isn't good enough on defense nor does he keep the offense running well enough to justify the poor shooting. He is one of the top assist guys in the league off the bench but that comes after stalling the offense, dribbling for 16-20 seconds of the shot clock, then going one-on-one to get his own shot and dumping off to a teammate at the last second for a hurried shot.
That is why is seems Dorell is shooting only 3's against the shot-clock so often. That is not to excuse Wright's one-dimensionedness but more to balance out Mo's assist numbers. Iverson averaged a lot of assists as well but was never what you would call an offensive facilitator.

Anyone have a link that shows the Blazer's ORtg and DRtg while Mo is in the game? The eye test says they're horrific, but I'd like the statistical proof.
I think the advanced stats are poor for every group except our starting 5. I found some stats on 82games although it appears they are only updated through the first 25 games.
When Mo is on the court we allow 110.1 points per 100 possessions. When he is off the court we allow 103.3.
The offense is scoring 110.1 when Mo is on the court, but 119.2 when he is off the court.
So the offense is 9.1 points per 100 possessions worse when Mo is in the game, the defense is 6.8 points worse when Mo is in the game. Combined that and the team is 15.9 points better with Mo on the bench.

How are you feeling after a week of full practice?
“I feel pretty good. My legs are getting back underneath me, feel like I’m getting in a lot better shape, kind of getting my rhythm back and getting used to playing with the guys.”
What are some of the things you feel like you’ve lost after having to sit out the last few months and do you feel like those things are coming back?
“Just little things like the timing and kind of getting used to getting in different spots with the team and going through the plays and stuff like that. That’s the stuff you lose when you’re not playing. Where to pick and choose your spots from when scrimmaging and stuff like that.
“In terms of the rehab, I was on the court basically through the whole process so everything is kind of there still. Still got the jumpshots, still got the handle. The hardest stuff is just getting used to the speed because you set out for a little bit and you come back and you’re trying to come back in while everybody is in midseason form. That would be the only thing that’s an adjustment first when you go through practices, just the speed of everything, getting your shot off in traffic, stuff like that. But I don’t feel like it’s been too hard of a transition because I’ve been able to do a lot of stuff this time around.”
The team doesn’t practice much due to the number of games. Do you feel like you’re getting enough practice in?
“I’ve been getting a lot of gym time in. The live stuff, it fluctuates in terms of when we get to play three-on-three, four-on-four, five-on-five. Obviously when we have practice days coming off back-to-backs a lot of the starters don’t participate or are limited in their participation, so a lot of us get to play the four-on-four and the five-in-five stuff against each other. I usually get to the gym early on game days and get a workout in before 3:30 PM or so. I’m still trying to stay sharp but obviously the more five-on-five I can play, the better.”
Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reported today that you’ll make your NBA debut shortly after the New Year. Do you have a date in mind for your return?
“We’re going over stuff right now. Hopefully I’ll be back soon. I know there’s no definite date penciled in yet, but hopefully we can get one soon to kind of get it going.”
I have seen McCollum only in Summer League, when he was a huge disappointment because his shooting couldn't hit a barn wall. But you guys must be right.
The mid-1st round pick already knows NBA rules like a 10-year vet. He learned the big time at LeHigh. The minutes of Mo, Lillard, and Matthews should be handed to the rookie. Right after we annoint him the Son of God.

as much as i'd like to see CJ on the court he has to earn his minutes and as much as other people haven't been good that doesn't mean a rookie who is coming off injury is going to get their minutes.

Or sucking.Just wait till people start complaining about CJ not getting enough playing time.![]()

I really want to see this kid play. I'm not sure what is but I have this full Mags type of pure blind homer that he is going to be good. Real good. And a great fit for this team.
