I wish we could trade a combination of Chief, Mo, ML, ET for a solid SF.
Mo is a solid SF. Perfect fit with the starters

I'm still not an Evan Turner fan. I don't buy the mumbo jumbo about him "taking the pressure off Lillard and CJ". When Dame and CJ are in the game, they'll be dominating the ball. His skill as a ball handler is useful off the bench, since this team doesn't have many ball handlers. Napier is the only other guy off the bench that's a ball handler.

Harkless is much better in the SL. He's great at diving to the hoop and scoring, and he's a better shooter than Turner.

Exactly, and I actually liked what we saw from ET yesterday. I think him and Morrow coming off the bench together could well be a lethal combination. I know "pairings" aren't en vogue in this era of positionless basketball and roster interchangeability, but I think we're starting to see certain groupings that just work well together.

Hmm...is exploration of that notion worthy of its own thread?

We going have 2 solid front court I do like the Harkless Nurk Swanigan and then Aminu Collins Davis that 2 front that plays very good defense and rebounds the ball well. I haven't even mention Vonleh either that fits with these guys.

I’m with you; start Hark/Nurk/C-Bo, fill in with the others... I’d also go as far as to say that, just like one of CJ or Dame should always be in the game, one of those three should as well.

I am in favor of Harkless starting
over ET, but either way ET can be in there with the 2nd unit. He started game one and played with the 2nd team and he came off the bench in game 2 and played with the 2nd unit.

And I am not convinced Moe is a better shooter than ET. Yes Moe is a better 3pt shooter when both are left wide open, but ET is a much better midrange shooter off the dribble. He has certain areas in the 15 foot range where he is quite good. And his post up game is better too. Driving to the basket....who has the better handles? But I do like how Moe finishes with the entry pass.

Both btw are good at coming up with steals and I actually like them in there together.

I hope Morrow makes the team. If they keep freakin Pat over him, it'll be insane. So what if he's not a good defender. Having a bench player that can generate offense like that is great. And it'll allow CJ/Dame to rest more.

Pat's got a spot already. Morrow's up against Briscoe, Goodwin and Wilcox for spot number 15.

In other words, he's got the job.

Edit: Forget Wilcox. He's got a spot on a two-way contract. Briscoe and Goodwin are bye bye.

Caleb reminds me of Z-Bo. Nose for the ball, knows how to use his butt to post up and box out, range all the way out, okay but not great defense. If that’s his ceiling we got a major steal.

This guy screamed "steal" from the first interview of I saw of him, before even summer league

When Vonleh comes back he will be the starter. The rooks will come off the bench. I know everyone is as excited as I am about the new kids, but Vonleh has become the forgotten man. People are sleeping on him. Adding Vonleh to the rooks is a win win for us. He will make Meyers and Davis expendable. Maybe Aminu too. Just my opinion.

We're not paying Vonleh. We simply won't IMHO. And it wouldn't make sense to since biggie is already better. NO has already said this.

If Swanigan and Collins continue to prove that they can handle there selves without become a liability on the floor the only way Vonleh going to get on the floor if he replacing Davis. The way Stotts talking about davis. Vonleh is going have a hard time getting back in the rotation.

I am the minority on this one. I get that. Love me some Collins and Caleb! I wouldn't cry if we traded him, but I think we keep him and he starts because these kids haven't played against anybody in a game that matters yet. They haven't been scouted and pushed like Vonleh has. Vonleh was a slow learner but didn't we get him at 19 also? He has an NBA body and showed me enough when we added Nurk to give him at least one more year. It's not like his value around the league is high enough to trade for anything of serious value, if someone offers him a ridiculous contract next year, we don't have to match because we have his replacement. He's also not Meyer's, he actually contributes.

I still haven't heard NO say that. Seems odd even for him. Right? Why decrease the value of one of your players?

I'm fine either way. We won the draft.

I keep forgetting about Voleh.... Man this front court is loaded! They got to move somebody at some point.

Yea I still looking at trading deadline as possible Davis or Vonleh. Rookies has a problem by hitting the wall in the season that why I don't see anything happening until trading deadline.

Offensively he looks Marc Gasol-esque. Absolutely love his skillset/feel on this side of the ball.

Not only that. They're both in a contract year. Davis would be cheaper to re-sign.
My thoughts exactly. Ed is back to his normal self, and he can help any team for about 20 minutes a night. He will most likely be cheaper than Vonleh as well. I like Noah, but he should be moveable this season as I doubt we resign him, given youth at the same position and the upcoming Nurk contract. We really should be looking to get a back up wing for Vonleh before the deadline.

Maybe if Detroit crashes and burns Vonleh and Aminu for Avery Bradley?

the team looks good, bench looks deep...I don't see a problem...Stotts can throw a lot of different lineups at teams that they might not scout before games...the rookies are solid, Big Ed is back....life is good

We won't sniff a trade till the deadline...as it is it's a competition for 2nd string rotation spots...deep frontcourt...when Vonleh comes back, even deeper...lot of fouls to give...if Morrow pans out and Shabazz comes back strong we're set...this year's 3rd string will be better than last year's...

ET still isn't a good enough shooter from midrange for it to be a good shot. I'd rather have Harkless shooting 3s then Turner shooting mid-range. I think Moe's post game is just as good as Turners if not better.

The biggest difference is that Harkless does take pressure off our guards because he knows how to move without the ball.

Probably would have to give up a pick as well. Can Bradley play some SF? I know he's 6'2 but his defense could make up for it. I wonder if 25 minutes a game backing up our guards and 5 minutes a game at SF next to our guards would satisfy him enough to resign. He'd probably like being back in the NW and next to Turner.

Crowder is a better option.

Of course Crowder would be preferable, but the Cavs absolutely need his defense to challenge the warriors. Detroit doesn't really need Bradley for anything in particular this season.

Neil has a pretty good eye for talent in the draft. Maybe we should keep our picks and only trade players for more picks. I know that isn't feasible, but getting really good free agents with a couple years left on their contract so we can convince them to stay is tough.

I would love Bradley or Crowder though.
