Camby out for tonight's game (sore knees)

Welcome to our community

So it begins... A different starter for the five spot any given night. Glad we stocked up on bigs. Brass did a good thing brining in Craig smith. Will give us the flexibility to play lma at center at times and still have a big lineup.

We should just sit Camby until the playoffs.

Glad to see Camby staying out of the games. I'd rather use this season to work on our new comers then have a feeble Camby play. Plus his wind-up shot bugs me.

Who's the MORON who got rid of Earl Barron?

Already posted in the game thread. :devilwink:

The game isn't going yet, so I know that I haven't checked it, and many of us don't particularly care to have all the Blazers news crammed into a single thread.

I'm glad that this sort of thing gets its own thread, personally.

Ed O.

Dalembert is still available:

Sam Amick @sam_amick 2m
Source says the Kings have pulled the offer for free agent center Samuel Dalembert.

Kobe is out tonight against the Clippers with a sore wrist. OMG will it ever heal?

This isn't surprising and it's not terrible news in my opinion. We'll need to keep his minutes per game limited during the season and definitely we can't play him 3 games in 3 nights. Fortunately with the addition of Kurt Thomas and Craig Smith we have more big man depth. I think Chris Johnson will see siginificant playing time as well. I'm okay with it.

Get used to it. He's old and this season is going to be a grind, especially for the old and/or out of shape.

Veteran move. Camby is never shy to take some games off. Especially a meaningless game like this.

On the plus side, a lot of CJ tonight

Yup.

Maybe we can give him a Kwame esque deal and trade Camby for him?

I was thinking about this yesterday. I don't see why Sac would want Camby though, even if we threw in $3M.

At this point, would you trade Oden for Dalembert?

EDIT: I guess it doesn't matter anymore

Yeah, I would. In a heartbeat. 3 things come to mind: We'd be using the 15th spot for an active center (6th big man), Dalembert is one of the best at defending LMA (so it'd be good to keep him on our team), and he'd be a legit third big man allowing us to have 1-2 big men on the court at all times (key come playoff time).

Too bad the Rockets got him.

The nicks and dings are really starting to pile up for the Kobester

So Bynum will miss the first 5 games and Kobe with an injury that takes 3-4 weeks to heal(which could be tough considering he'll play with it).

And Phil Jackson isn't there to keep it together

Will be surprised if the Lakers finish a top 4 seed at this point

I wouldn't be surprised if we see more games off like this to avoid a serious injury. This is a hectic season and the older players need some rest. Could be a strategy as well.

I think they're going to suck ... a lot ... like "miss the playoffs with a 9 seed" suck.

I may just agree with you. We may just see how important Phil was to the franchise. I just don't think Brown has the ability to coach a team like this. I think he will try to implement the LJ strategy; which will be an epic fail because Kobe now wasn't like LJ then.
