Wow, Arizona has been killing USC in the second half.

Arizona's QB took a nasty hit to the head, threw up and is still out there playing. He has to have a concussion. Surprised the refs let him keep playing.

No bueno. Concussions are not something to fuck with. I actually want USC to win. The Ducks need them ranked as high as possible.

Fuck, Lee is such a stud. He scares the chit out of me. 335 yards receiving?!? Insane!

Fuck.... SC lost so now they'll fall in the rankings a bit. Doesn't help our case.

Less than 80 in the second half when they really needed them. On a related note, I've watched Barkley 3x this year and think he's more Brandon Weeden than Andrew Luck.

Luck is special though. Not a lot of QBs possess what Luck does. Barkley comes off as a big headed punk.

At this point I think the Ducks control their own destiny. I don't see how if we go undefeated and win the conference title game that they don't take a team with 13 wins over a team like Notre Dame and K-State with only 12 wins. Too many more BCS points in the extra game.

He's got Brady Quinn written all over him.

Considering how talented USC is, they are extremely underachieving.

:dunno: But it makes the Zona route more impressive.

Sure, but that doesn't help us in the eyes of the computers. We're already firmly entrenched in the #2 spot in the human rankings. Unless we pass Bama for #1, it really won't help that much. We need wins over opponents with good rankings. It would have helped if USC was ranked in the top 10 at the end of the season... but if they lose to us next week, I doubt that will happen.

Why wouldn't that help us in the computers? A win by USC would have made the win over Arizona worth less in the computers. Based on my understanding of how the computers work, I don't think the result of that game really impacted us one way or the other.

Notre dame and Kansas state don't have conference title games. The Ducks win out they are in the title game regardless of those 2 teams being undefeated. BCS will favor a teams with 13 wins and a conference title win over a team with 12 wins and no conference title win. It's really that simple.

If Notre Dame goes undefeated, there will be a lot of pollsters who choose to put them #2. In all reality, if they beat Oklahoma (which might actually happen), a lot of pollsters will put them #2 tomorrow. I don't think things are as cut and dried as you think.

The pollsters sure, the computers no. BTW, I love the fact that Notre Dame is relevant again.

What makes you think the computers are going to rank Oregon so highly, especially when Notre Dame and Kansas State's schedules have been so much tougher? And if the polls are 2/3 of the formula, who says that computer rankings would help us overcome that?

All I'm saying is that there are a lot of factors at play, and assuming that they'll all work out in Oregon's favor is a touch myopic.

I don't know. ND travels and seems to have a wide following. I can see us getting shoved out of the way for them.

Well, all we can do is keep winning and hope for the best.

This Notre Dame offense is looking versatile and efficient in their first series of the second half. If the Irish can actually generate legit offense, they might well be a championship caliber team.
