" I wont be ready for camp in September"

I mean if you can read between the lines you might also find " I could give 2 shits about the franchise or basketball" but thats if you have that ability to read between lines. Am I the only one who thought that that interview was more depressing then the game 7 200 meltdown to LA? I mean for anyone out there who wonders why kpee is getting fired in a few days/weeks... go listen to that gem of an interview.

And before you guys flip out... in all honesty would you bet money on oden beibg ready for camp with confidence? Or will you take the oden aproach and say something like "the knee injuries are tricky and i really dont know"

if the Blazers win the series you wont be around to talk about him being back in camp right?

the interview he did on homers at work yesterday.

After a season like the one we just witnessed nothing would surprise me when it comes to player health.

the interview he did on homers at work yesterday.

That interview was brutal. Either Oden had just woke up from a nap, or he is seriously down on himself. It was just ... sad. I felt bad for Greg. Dude needs a hug or something.

am i the only one who feels like hes nowhere near close to september?

I've considered it, but honestly none of us has the slightest clue about the condition of his knee and the progress of his rehab. Only Greg, his doctors and the team are privy to this.

not to be sarcastic .... but the fucking guy cant walk upstairs yet!!!!!

i guess what im saying is... how can anyone in tehir right mind think greg is gonan be ready for september when he has trouble trusting his knee climbing stairs. thats a scary quote from him. i mean its been 5 months.

That is months out, why would you judge anything he is doing now as to what his capabilities will be at the time camp opens up. It's not like his leg was cut off or something.

I have no idea about his recovery. I am only commenting on the vibe I got from him yesterday, and it wasn't good in terms of his emotional health.

Well unlike you Mix, when I don't have any info, I don't make it up, or in your case "read between the lines"

And there's six more months until the start of next season ... You can hit the panic button f he's still unable to walk up stairs in July.

DUDE..... HE HAS NO CONFIDENCE WALKING UPSTAIRS!!!!!

Thats cause for concern dont ya think 5 months later?????????????

I guess it depends on what the normal timetable for a broken patella is ... I freely concede I find it mildly worrisome, but I'm not quite ready to start typing in ALL CAPS and using 300 question marks or 50 misplaced exclamation points just yet.

I tried looking online lightly and couldnt find something about recovery time. But I'm not a doctor so I am not sure.

I would hope that at this point Oden is frustrated, angry, and fired up. Instead, he comes across as either depressed or indifferent.

Well hes going to be at the game tonight so lets see how he seems to be handling him self when they show him on camera.

Frustrated and angry with who? God? Fired up to keep weight off his knee?

I love the psychological evaluations going on here from a million miles away (metaphorically, but almost literally...he is all the way in Indiana after all!!). He's not angry enough! He's in a bad place with his emotional well-being! He doesn't care enough. He's not committed. Scary thoughts running through my head...

Did you listen to the interview? Unfortunately, we fans have been given basically no information about Oden's progress, and his live interviews have been few and far between. My take is that the guy sounded like he needs a hug. Am I right? I don't know. Am I wrong? Could be. Did I express my opinion based on new information? Yes. Have others who listened to the interview also had subsequent questions about Oden? Obviously. I don't see the need to poke fun at people who actually listened to the interview. It's your right, I guess, but I find it unnecessary and counter-productive.

Yes, a live interview is a solid window into a person's soul. I'm sorry I implied that you had absolutely nothing to go on due to not ever interacting with him and never seeing what he's like outside the public eye.

What I find unnecessary and counter-productive is the pop psychology analyses of players by fans. It's your right, I guess. I do find it amusing that you used to rail at people who criticized Outlaw for his lack of basketball IQ, because it was such a vague and opinion-based criticism, despite it relating to something we can actually observe: his on-court play. Yet you're perfectly fine with psychological analysis of psyches that we get virtually no opportunity to observe.

Huh? Anyhow, I posted that I thought it sounded like Greg may have been napping and that he needed a hug. Can't we all use a hug? What do you have against hugs?

My guess: If he's in a good mood, that means he doesn't give a fuck. If he's calm, that means he doesn't give a fuck. If he looks down, that means he doesn't give a fuck.

:dunno:
