Can Pritchard make this move?

Can Pritchard trade Outlaw, and Blake to a team who do not pick up their options to save cap room and we sign these players back to our team in July? The reason I say that it is decent cap relief for some team and if we resign both or one of the players to the same contract, it might be another way for KP to rob a team that wants cap relief.

If Outlaw is traded, he is gone. If the other team waived him, another team such as memphis would surely claim him and pay him his salary. Blake is another story. But I could see a team claiming him as well. They both have value. They are being paid fair money. They are on just one year deals. Losing Blake could could really hurt us so a team we are competing with would be wise to snag him.

I don't think this is right; they wouldn't be getting waived, they'd be having their non-guaranteed years not picked up. I'm pretty sure that means that if the other team opts for cap space, they don't have to clear waivers; they just instantly become unrestricted free agents. In that scenario, depending on who we had taken back in the trade of course, I think we'd have a decent chance of getting back Blake, at least, and maybe Travis too. It would eat up our cap space, though.

That is against league rules and is why teams can not sign those guys for 30 days now. If it got out that there was a pre-arranged agreement Stern would come down on both teams heavy and hard.

You are correct. In this situation they would be free agents. They would be available to the highest bidder with no Bird Rights. It would be ridiculous to do as it would take cap space to re-sign our own players back. We would really have to get something good to give our cap space away in this fashion.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. Whether or not it is technically possible, it wouldn't make much sense under most circumstances.
