Which do you guys think is the better country? Which is the best to live? Better economy? Better government?Good Points are that Im sure we have better healthcare in Canada. Our HDI score is higher. Our Dollar has gone up and the American has gone down since if im correct, (which causes a negative effect on our country, making things coming in from America more expensive), Were a bit safer to live in, our government is democratic, peace oriented.Bad Points are that Canada suffers from major inflation, prices from things like Milk to Gas, have increased in price from 50% - 100% in price, Canada has a major problem: Agin Population, Yeap the 65+ part of our population is by far the greatest, meaning for pop. growth, we rely heavily on immigration, 90% of our pop. leaves within the U.S Border, making nearly 3 quarters of our country vastly underpopulated, Weird weather patterns, temperatures in toronto can range from -40 to +40 degrees Celsius. Those are some quick points off my head, anyone want to add their thoughts to the discussion?

Well the US is the better country, our economy is stronger and less likely to fluxuate like Canadas does. Also, US infistructure is a lot more complete. almost all American cities are excessible to one and other via road or railways, communication links are established everywhere(though this is not as important as it once was since satillites do most of it now). the US also has a lot better access to its natural resources. some reports say Canada has access to only about 9% of its oil reserves.

Canada ... there going uphill, America is going downhill

Our natural resources are acessed by the cities around them (small cities in Alberta, etc..) the problem is transporting them to cities that need them, it defies the whole oil rig in your country idea. Which is why we have tons of refineries near major cities. Even then, we still dont use the oil we get from Alberta here. I agree the American economy is stronger, but thats because you guys have a bigger trading market, but otherwise your economy is in the minus, I believe your dollar has gone down quite considerably compared to the Canadian.

...oh Canada :worthy:

I could ruin your whole basis that canada guys are hot by posting a pictures of my exgirlfriends best friend(who was from Ontario). she alone brings down the beauty of Canadian women by 5 percentage points. The US dollar did fall, especially after 9/11. but that was to be expected, we'd had a 8 year run with the best economy in our nations history, and the economy doesn't stay bullish for ever. add that to 9/11, the corperate scandals, stupid tax breaks, and the near collapse of the internet market and you can see why the US economy went to sh*t. It's climbing its way back, and the last time I was in canada the US dollar was worth more than the Canadian dollar, and that was about 9 months ago, so I'm going to assume the US market is better.

Who cares what your dollar amount is....Without us Canada would be under Japanese control. Who cares about Canada.

This is also coming from the same people that apparently dont care about us, but want our fresh water too.

Bottom line, we matter internationally, we are probably the most powerfull country in the world, I've been to Canada, not all that impressed...comparing economies is waste of time. US wins. Why not compare the US and Poland next....

Opinion. I'll give you healthcare. More job opportunities? Not really.

Not really.</div>actually there are more job opportunities in Canada. It's crazy easy to find a well paying job there with almost no qualifications right now. It's like the opposite of France.

France is full of a bunch of yellow bellied snail eaters and hairy women, not really a good place to compare your country to. As far as the open job market goes, I know in Utah you can find a good paying job easily; but we tend to be the polar opposit from the rest of the country so I don't know how it is elsewhere.

Right now, Oshkosh Truck, the best company in Wisconsin in terms of pay has 150 job openings but they can't fill the spots because they can't find qualified workers....they make military vehicles for the government and the pay/benefits there are out of this world. In Wisconsin finding a job isn't that difficult, go down in the south east and it is rough.

All I'm saying is, I forgot the numbers but statistically there are a lot more jobs to fill per capita in canada

Well Canada might have more jobs because unlike in the US they don't have 50 million wetback willing to work for 3 bucks an hour.

Most of those who are arguing with you, have probably never even been outside their country anyway, and tell me how someone can say "We're the best country in the world" when they've never lived in any of the other countries in the world? How blatantly ignorant is that? Nobody can claim their country as "the best" simply because they've never lived in all the other countries in the world! But see, you'll never get the arrogant/patriotic yanks to agree with the reality that another country is actually BETTER than their own, you're fighting a battle you can't win, because most of 'em can't see outside of the toilet in which they float.

Canada's health care may be free and their dental care may be free but you have to wait months for it and it isn't neccesarily the best qualityI've been in both countries...USA is better by farThe only thing better about Canada is how peaceful it is..it's very quiet..I kind of like it but I also like to live...sorry Canada but you aren't the best country..very boring and too many snobby french-canadians who think they're the best..they get it from that French influence though Canada is probably the country where most people think it's the best for all the wrong reasons..and don't get bashed for it like people in the US doIf Canada was in trouble I'm sure they'de call on the strong US military to protect the weak Canadian militaryHonestly..do you guys even have a standing army or do you just prepare for war after disaster already strikes?Also..I know using Wikipedia as a source isn't the brighest idea but Canada has a substantially larger amount of people in poverty than the United states doesI wanna say this again...Canadians overrate their country so much..and don't get blasted for it like Americans do

What the hell is wrong with an American believing America is the greatest country in the world? It's not that big of a reach. I mean we have the strongest military in the world, tons of people want to be US citizens, we have tons of rights and freedoms, we have a very high standard of living, we are a proud country...etc... "OMG your a typical American ignoramus...you know nothing of the world." Shutup.

You've BEEN to these countries. You have not LIVED in these countries. Plus, that's only 4 (or 8 if you're counting all 4 countries of the UK) that you've BEEN to, out of how many other countries in the world? That's what I thought. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"OMG your a typical American ignoramus...you know nothing of the world." Shutup.</div>You said that, I didn't. Your arrogant ignorance speaks for itself. The fact you're retaliating by telling me to "shut up" suggests an air of defensiveness, presumably because I've incited you with my previous posting of reality. And that's understandable, as when the idea of something different/better is being presented to a yank such as yourself, it's very difficult for them to even attempt to comprehend the truth. Thus, they end up getting pissed or defensive and use a retort very similar to yours.Do me a favour oh 19 year old wanderer of the world, check this link out:http://www.aztlan.net/iraqi_women_raped.htmProud to be an "american" now? Come back to me when you can make your own logical conclusions and opinions, because you're just spewing out the same old tired rhetoric you're used to hearing at home/school/fox news, etc. it's quite sad that someone as young as you (and many other young teens like yourself) are so impressionable, and have the wrong ideas/lack of morals/intelligence/rationale impressed upon you at such a young age.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but which armed conflict around the world has not had instances of rape, murder and accusations of atrocities? My grandpa served in WW2, was decorated and did a hell of a job and my dad served in Vietnam. I am in college to be a police officer and currently work for my department and you come in and say I lack morality? Where do you get that from? You don't know a damn thing about me and my beliefs and you'd be damn suprised by what I know about politics, history and world problems. Ask any member on this forum. So impressionable? My mom and dad are both hardcore Democrats, I am a moderate, I was against the war in Iraq to begin with. I am not voting for who my family is voting for because I look into things for myself. Oh, and I hate Fox News and never watch it. I hate Bill O'Reilly. I think America is the best country in the world and I love this country...thats just my opinion. You can stereotype me into some Fox News watching Republican with no morality if you want....but again, you don't know anything about me.

I love how people who live outside of the United States think that all Americans know nothing about other countriesLike you've lived in america lolit's called nationalism f*cking idiotthe reason there hasn't been a war on American soil in nearly 1 1/2 centuries is because this country's strong and will remain strong......suck it up you know it all foreigners
