Canada’s prostitution laws unconstitutional, court rules

A Toronto judge has struck down Canada’s prostitution laws, effectively decriminalizing activities associated with the world’s oldest trade.

“These laws, individually and together, force prostitutes to choose between their liberty interest and their right to security of the person as protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms,” Justice Susan Himel of Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice said in Tuesday’s landmark decision.

Chalk one up for Liberty. I have no idea why it's criminalized in the USA. As long as it is between two consenting adults and nobody's physically harmed, there is no victim in this "crime."

Anyhow, here's the best part of the article:

“This is wonderful,” dominatrix Terri-Jean Bedford told reporters at the University Ave. courthouse.

To each their own.

One small step for whores, one giant leap for mankind.

Canada is leaving US in the dust in the Freedom department.

Yes, let's increase the sex slave trade for minors. A major plank of the left.

How much for a barely legal Canadian girl !?

there were prostitution laws in Canada?

oops.

:ohno:

WOw, with the exchange rate, I bet you could get a great deal on the Canadian Craigslist.

Yep, if there's one thing the left is for, is the sexual exploitation of youths

The left does not advocate sexual exploitations of youths, but I do note the ACLU (and liberals) believes in the decriminalization of child porn and routine defends it as freedom of speech. It's a small step from seeing child porn (and is that not the exploitation of youths?) as freedom of speech to prostitution as such as well.

The effects of degrading yourself to this level are highly permanent, especially when the consenting adult is not even old enough to drink

No more degrading than working at McDonalds for chump change.

The only one who should feel degraded is the loser johns who pay for sex.

Whether you spend $300 dollars on dinner and a move or jewelry, or $300 for a girl to blow you behind a building, you are paying for sex. In your mind you might be able to retionalize it, but in reality, you are doing the same thing. Let's just legalize it already, collect the taxes, and get these women to routine dr's appointments.

I agree that it should be legalized. If it's legal in Nevada, why not every where else?

I was careful in my wording when I said "two consenting ADULTS."
