The Ruben Patterson dig is hilarious and super cheap, but as for the rest I think JC isn't too far off; Olshey does have to bear the burden of responsibility for ultimately getting nothing for Alrdridge. Fair or not that is the nature of the job title.

Even in years when the entire league isn't flush with cap room, it's been rough trying to get free agents to take Portland as a destination seriously. Who knows, maybe it allows for lopsided trades to happen, but not even getting a future first or even a lowly second rounder somehow someway for LMA isn't a great look.

The LMA/Love comparison is not accurate. If the T-wolves actually thought they had a chance to advance far in the playoffs or even win a championship they wouldn't have traded Love. The team was going nowhere and Love was going elsewhere so it made sense to trade him.

This is my big grudge with Neil. He tried in 2012 but failed. In his spot there is no 'try' - you either do or don't. His spin of development within and "a lot of cap flexibility" was cheap.

Z-Bo is different to me. He was a complete piece of shit when he was here. It took him getting traded for table scraps to get his act together. By all accounts he's a decent guy now, and has made the very most out of lack of athleticism. We WANTED him gone. We wanted the other one to stay.
