Be prepared Blazer fanatics….Portland may wind up in Las Vegas? Seattle?

No they won't.

In the article itself.

I’m told there is no plan for the franchise to be relocated. Portland has a functional arena, loyal customers and commissioner Adam Silver wouldn’t dare repeat the biggest mistake of David Stern’s career — ushering the Sonics to Oklahoma City.

I'm pretty sure the league is looking at expanding into those two markets and with the backlash the last time they fucked over a team in the PNW, I don't think the NBA wants to go through that again with a team that makes money, has a great fan base and owns their facilities, unless of course the city decides to try and fuck over the Blazers with the land lease, which I just don't see happening.

I don’t understand why the Knight family doesn’t want to buy it. He literally made his money off sports and we all know nba franchises jump crazy in valuation on the yearly. At the very least he owns it just for the fuck of it as one of his toys. Shit is literally dirt cheap to him.

Thanks for the recap....I refuse to click on anything this Spunk Bubble types. Curious why the term auction was used and not sale?

The nba doesn’t move teams anymore. You literally have to have a crumbling arena, terrible ratings, terrible attendance and even that’s still questionable. Relocation is getting rare nowadays

Im not sure what it means by "auction" either. Maybe it's a polite way of saying "to the highest bidder"?

The NBA learned their lesson after the Sonics fiasco. Look at the Kings, that dumpster fire of a franchise should've been moved a long time ago, but the NBA fought like hell to keep the Kings there.

Word on the street is that LeBron James is interested in being an owner.

As a 14 year Timbers season ticket holder… please no on Merritt.

Are you saying you don't want an inconsistent product on the court?

Why? Just curious
Super inconsistent in management. People talk about how loyal to a fault Dame has been with coaches and teammates. Merritt is moreso with even mediocre results. Has ridden the coattails of a generational player and random hot streaks to championship appearances, and then 2 of those games flopped because he pinched Pennies on positions of need.

There are three billionaires in Oregon. Travis Boersma (Dutch Bros Coffee) estimated at 3.4 billion. Timothy Boyle (Columbia Sportswear CEO) 2.4 billion. Phil Knight (Nike) at 49 billion.

It makes trekking the 70 miles to games 2/3 of the season super crappy, but makes it fun when they realize “oh crap we better win more so we don’t miss the playoffs in a league where more than half the teams make it.”

Why do they have to be Oregonians? The team has never been owned by an Oregonian.

Exactly. It’s rare
