He's hearing rumblings and said "don't be surprised if LMA is moved by the deadline or in the summer."

Is my DMC to Portland dream still alive?!

Canzano has never broken any news

Trading Aldridge is scary, but probably the smartest thing to do for both the franchise and the player

It would have to be a great deal to think about but in that scenario (provide a PF didn't come back in the deal) would you keep Hickson and start him at PF? Hickson would be a lot better provided he was playing his real position of course. I know you are not fond of him that is why I ask.

I cant think of any deals id be happy with moving lma for that actually makes sense for both parties. You dont trade 27 year old all star level big men, especially when he doesnt want to leave our small market team.

No keeping Hickson. Hick sons PER for and against at PF is virtually as bad as at C

As for value, you'd be talking multiple picks and young players shown to have a good career ahead of them

JJ has played 56% of all available center minutes for us. He's played 1% of the PF minutes. Not exactly the largest sample size.

Trading LA would make me kind of sad, but if it happens I'll understand ... assuming it's for multiple picks and a young-ish front-court player with some potential.

You are bringing up opponents PER yet Hickson has a higher PER than his opponents. If you are merely going off of opponent PER then you would be adovcating getting rid of Lillard because who he guards does quite a bit better than he does.

Lillard is a rookie

LMA has a higher PER at Center than PF. Perhaps we should merely swap him and Hickson. LMA doesn't care for the Center designation but it is merely a name.

Lillard will either get better, stay roughly same in that area, or get worse. Just like Hickson. We aren't playing for this year. Their numbers are going to most likely be different next year and the year after, and etc.

Nene, seraphin and pick? McGee, faried and a pick?

Mehhhhhh

What would you need to get back if we were to trade Aldridge and Matthews?

Just fuckin' around, haven't found anything I'd do.. but are these close to fair?

Of course picks aren't available to put in on the trade machine.

I wouldn't take either of the deals above personally but I would take either of these:

or

Problem with the second deal is Jefferson could walk although we would have his Bird Rights and could offer him the most.

P.S. This was going off the LMA and Matthews theme. Not in a hurry to trade Matthews though. (Or LMA for that matter)

that second one is terrible for just LMA, no way I add in Matthews.

Because he could walk if he wanted to leave money on the table? Because otherwise Jefferson has a 21 PER, puts up 17 and 10 but the big kicker is he can effectively play Center.

with the exact same deal, i wouldn't trade LMA straight up for him

I'd do that one for just Aldridge, not with Wesley though.

and what does he add? you trade lma if you think somehow he's too old. that doesn't mean then you add a guy a few months older as the centerpiece.

Personally I am not wanting to trade LMA. But if I was trading him it wouldn't be because I thought he was too old. I would trade him if I thought it would make us better (not saying this deal does specifically) but I couldn't care about matching ages with the rest of the team. You look at all the NBA champions, you are never going to find a team that had its core (top 4 players) all within 3 years of each other.

I never said anything about age either. But in this deal (just Aldridge) you get back almost the same post production from a center, moving JJ to PF. You get Carroll, a proven backup SF with a 16.4 PER and Burks, a 21 year old who has showed promise and has tons of potential. If we were going to trade Aldridge and no better deal came along, yeah, I'd do that.

al jefferson? wtf

if you trade him, you are looking for a player like drummond, expirings, and a top 10 pick

and its still crap

My question is whether this is because Olshey feels that trading Aldridge is what's best for the team, or if Aldridge has asked to be traded.

Edited - if it's actually true.
