They're playing well but there's still a lack of balance at forward just watching them. And McDonagh has to pick up his game as they get past the new year.
 
Speaking of the Devs, my lord they are awful. No doubt one of the worst 4 or 5 teams in the NHL...maybe 3rd or 4th worst. Dominated by the Canes at home tonight.

We better get that win on Saturday night before we head to Dallas for a tough game. Need 8...
 
Oh stop sc...McDonagh is back on his game the past 4 or 5 games. Zucc has come alive. Miller has added some depth upfront. I think we can still use another forward, but this is a very solid team...accept it...:).
 
Three straight ugly wins. Got lucky in the third because of the caps stupidity. Hank has played well but for the love of god, can hank stop letting in soft goals.

Terrible third but they built a big enough lead. At this point, as long as they keep getting 2 points to erase the first quarter of the year where they stunk. Hunwick was terrible in the third. He's too small. Moore would have been a ton better against the Craps bigger forwards. Hunwick was responsible for most of the pressure in the third on those long shifts.
 
Again, it is not a very solid team until they can prove they can play against the better offensive teams which they have not done by any stretch this year. They have been destroyed vs. Tampa, Toronto and the Islanders.
 
I kind of disagree Step. Tonight was not ugly. YES the Caps played well in the 3rd, but totally controlled the game prior to that, and then the dreaded 3 goal lead. We rebounded after it was 3-2 and took it with total control late due to PP's. So I disagree. Tonight was a good solid win over a good solid team.

Played down to the Canes level over the weekend, but tonight we played well I think.

This stretch is incredibly easy for the Rangers. They should win.
 
Chuck you're too easy fooled by a streak. Yes they're a pretty good team but they're relying on three rookies and Hunwick to round out a not overly strong or skilled lineup.
 
Also really closing in on the Isles now...was going to happen. 6 back but 2 games in hand...could be 2 back. We will be right there battling for 2nd in the Met again. Mark that down.
 
You are just off sc. I am not fooled by anything. They are a good team. I have been saying that the whole season. Not dominant. Not the best. Need to add another player to really step up to that top level, but you guys are crazy with the knocks on this team.

Wait...our 6th dman Moore or Hunwick isn't great...SHOCKER because most teams have 6 great dmen...LOL. Of course our 6th dman isn't great. But as 6th dmen go Hunwick or Moore are solid.

We have top upfront talent in the top 6. We have a top level D from 1-6. And we have a world class goalie. So just stop the nit-picking BS.
 
The Devils have an absolutely brutal schedule coming up.
 
Now you'll reply by saying i hate everyone and think the team sucks. :) I definately think they're more skilled this year but the defense worries me, as well as the pp.
 
And Stepan is playing like a true # 1. Brass is playing like a true # 2. Zucc has gotten it together. Nash is a beast. Miller added depth.

You guys are unreal. The team is playing great and all you guys do is still complain and act as if we aren't that good. My lord must be rough being a fan like that. When are you happy?
 
Nash is bringing home the bacon or they'd be down in Devils point territory most likely. The defense isn't top level imo, though Klein is playing like an AS.
 
I won't respond by saying that, but I will respond by saying you must really have a sad life bro. The team is playing great and still you complain. And as for the D...give me a break. How many teams have 4 dmen like McD, Girardi, Staal, and Klein? That is a very good 4. Boyle needs to play better, but we know he is skilled. And the 6th dman, be it Moore or Hunwick, is fine for a 6th dman.

Amazing bro. Let's all nit-pick...LOL.
 
From 1-6 we have a very solid D. Not the best in the league, but very solid. Sorry if you nit-pick our 6th dman, or still think Girardi stinks, but our D is solid 1-6. Not great or dominant, but very solid.
 
BTW...hope the Devs win some games. Don't want them with a top 2 pick. Figure Oilers are 1...hope Canes or Sabres get 2 over the Devs. Devs will be top 4 or 5 though.
 
Here is the bottom line to me. Solid team. That is what we are. To act as if we are not is comical to me. No one is in here saying we are awesome or the best, but we have a solid team. No doubt about it. And in hockey you can do some damage with a solid team as we all know.
 
I'ts not complaining more that i'm saying you might be getting ahead of yourself a little. They look like they're a
good team but really they're being carried by 2-3 players right now. I love that Hayes Fast and Miller all seem to be progressing. They definately need at least one more quality finisher to make a run this year.
 
And i applaud Hunwick for holding his own but can you win 4 rounds with him? Not too sure. Even Staal i don't see as playing as well as people are saying, maybe im just missing it or something.
 
How am I getting ahead of myself? See that is what I think you are missing. I said they will battle for 2nd in the Met...NOT 1st. I said they were not dominant or the best...good solid team. So explain because I would love to hear it.

And what 2 or 3 players are carrying us? Brass who has 26 points in 30 games? MSL who has 25 points in 32 games? Nash who has been a beast? Stepan who has 19 points in 20 games? Zucc who has 8 points in his last 7 games? Klein who has 7 goals and is a + 13? McDonagh who is up to a + 10 and has been excellent the past 6 or 7 games? Miller who has 4 goals in 10 games since he has been back? Hank who has been on fire the past 7 or 8 games?

Help me understand which 2 or 3 players have carried them please.

I am sorry for coming off rude here, but you live in fantasy land bro. Go team by team and tell me which teams have great SIXTH DMEN. My lord you are just off on this...he is our SIXTH DMAN...not top 4. Him or Moore are perfectly fine as SIXTH DMEN.
 
And I do agree with you that we need another top 9 forward, I have felt that way all season. So we agree there. But I think we can get that at the trade DL...and if we do watch out.
 
Nash, Klein and of late Lundqvist though he got off to an average start through November. Miller has been very good. Stepan somehow puts up the points but he piggybacks alot of great Nash plays. The Hayes signing was excellent.
 
As long as they don't play TB i'll say they could probably beat anyone in the east, but they'd do well to add that extra piece which will be tricky given the cap space.
 
Sonds good. So Klein, Nash, and Hank. F Brass who has 9 points in his last 8 games. F MSL who has 8 points in 11 games. F Miller who has 4 goals in 10 games. F Stepan who is at a point per game pace pretty much. F Zucc who has 8 points in the last 7 games. F McD is a PLUS 10 in his 11 games back with 7 points.

Again just stop. You are coming off as an over the top negative fan bro.
 
If Boyle can add some O which i think he gradually will then they will be that much more potent. I'm not sitting here all negative, i'm just also being realistic regardless of the results as to the eye test of ways to improve.
 
No, you are being negative when you ignore all the stats and numbers and say 2 or 3 players have carried them, which is flat out not true.

Again, not a great team, not a dominant team, not one of the top 4 or 5 teams, but they are a very solid team with some top talent guys (Nash and McD), and a world class goalie. No doubt a dangerous team, and if they add another top 9 forward I think we have a great shot to make some real noise again in the playoffs.

You are acting as if I am saying something more than that, which I am not.
