The fact also is the Caps are head and shoulders above the other teams in the East right now...I have said that many times the past couple of weeks. After them though the East is wide open IMO. And we are as good as any other team.

And even though the Caps are clearly the best team in the East and the team to beat in the East, that does not mean we can't beat them in the 2nd round if we add some forward depth. This is the NHL not the NBA...there are no givens in the NHL.

Oh and BTW...I was the one saying all summer the Caps look great on paper and we would not have near the same regular season we have had the past couple of seasons. Not winning the Met. Interesting....

I will tell you two areas we agree 100% on dump. McIlrath should be in the lineup somehow AND Glass needs to be off this team.

The Craps change every year trying to find the formula. You can see it paying off now. This team sits there and continues to put the same, f'n team out there. It's moronic. The Caps just have a better built, younger team, with a goalie who is coming into his own and is as good as Lundqvist at this point. Plus under Trotz they don't make the stupid mistakes they used to which is a big key.

We disagree on that. And you change your story to fit your chicken little yearly threads. Not built for the playoffs...but we have won round after round the past 4 years. No that means nothing because we didn't win a cup. So every team in the NHL is a waste outside of the Kings and Hawks I guess.

You need to be in it to win it, and we have been right there. We are in 2nd place right now despite your CONSTANT whining and crying. We have gone on long runs just about every season and you start ridiculous thread after ridiculous thread about how we suck and aren't built for the playoffs. And need to send X player to the minors or trade these 5 guys (in deals you make up that never EVER happen).

You supported every one of the trades we made, and I can bump post after post of you doing that, and now you act as if anyone who supported them was an idiot. The Caps have done a very good job putting their team together 71. You could see how close they were last year. Right now they are the best team in the East. But anything can happen in the NHL. We make a move or two and add some depth upfront and we'll go from there.

What happens with fans, and it is what it is, they see their teams flaws and act like oh we make mistakes and we are dumb. We don't watch other teams game in and game out so we think we're alone. ALL teams make mistakes. We are no different.

Again...for all the whining and crying in here we are in 2nd place and top 4 in points in the East. If we are sitting in that position what does that make the rest of the East?

Fans lack perspective, and that is what is truly lacking on these boards. We have issues...NO DOUBT...but every team does. We are not alone. And with 1/2 the season left AND us sitting in 2nd place, I am not going to bail on the team. I know we'll make a few moves and we'll see where we are at that time.

What I'm realizing now is Chuck is a softie. Same as our dumbass coach who has actually started lying to protect his vets. Lying that Girardi is better than McIlrath which any fan in our fan base can tell you is complete bullshit and is a total lie.

Girardi right now, is not an NHL player. The fact Chuck is such a softie that he thinks Girardi who couldn't lift Redden's jockstrap as a player when Redden was good, can't be sent to the minors when Redden was is laughable. Nobody here other than AV and Chuck gives a rat's ass what Girardi did here in the past. All we care about is the man's ability to win games now for this team and help them win a cup. Right now all Girardi does is help the team lose games. That means he shouldn't play. Period. There is no point in him sitting in the stands with his salary which is why he should be sent to the minors. No other team even wants him at this point.

On this roster the Rangers have 3 players that aren't NHL players. Glass. Megna and Girardi. Where Girardi's game went I have no idea. However, it's gone. Only chance I see of him getting it back is to go to the minors and try to find it.

Bottom line is beyond even this season we are in trouble both on the ice and capwise with he and Staal rapidly declining. Maybe if they eat part of Staals money they can move him but Girardi will be playing more like a 2-3m dman the rest of his career.

The fact is that this team flat out sucks compared to the top 4 or 5 teams in the league. Major changes are needed. That starts with Girardi out of the lineup and McIlrath in.

I will be alone on Girardi and I'm fine with that. He is in a rough patch, but I fully expect him to rebound and be a good player for us again. We'll see if I am right on that or if he is done and will be nothing more than a whatever player moving forward.

You need your better players to rebound or you can just forget the season. Thus is a salary cap league so you can come up with as many knee jerk fantasies as you like. You can't just get rid of everyone or send them to the minors just because you want to.

first time i screamed at rangers all year, when nash did not clear puck, look like he hesitated to either shoot at net or not ice puck..... get rid of that puck!!!

think AV is doing a great job this year , problem with the rangers in last month, they rely on speed, they have slowed down, it happens, teams have caught up... he's made a few bone head moves , like boyle shooting in a shootout, think it was the isles game, don't get that one, but, over all very good coach... don't know why mac wasn't in yesterday's game, OV hit 1 time?

our D, i have to rely on the pro's, but i think it is very challenged, i stick to what i said from day 1, never win a cup with staal and girardi gettin all the ice time, these 2 have more assists on goals against us then for us
