"I think I can fit in with Portland," Landry told SLAMonline. "They’re in need of a big post presence down low. I'm not taking anything away from (Greg) Oden and (Marcus) Camby. I just know what I can provide. The Blazers are a good team and I know I can help."

Landry, traded to the Hornets midseason from Sacramento, also tells SLAM he would give the New Orleans Hornets first dibs in re-signing but added he has "no doubt that I would blend in fine" with the Trail Blazers.

That's random that that came up in an interview. I didn't read the link, they must have asked him where else he might fit in. He's a banger, that's for sure.

i think that would be perfect....he can really score down low to

Landry would be a great fit and would be perfect off the bench. I don't see how we could afford him though.

down low presence? toughness? hogwash. what we really need is another undersized combo guard

well, I like Carl's confidence, but he's also "undersized" as a 6'8" helper in place of Greg and Camby

i think he would be a nice change of pace from LMA at the 4, and would even work with LMA at the 5

lma/ landry
oden/ camby

is solid

I agree that it's solid, but I'm more afraid that the following is the "truth":

PF: Wallace/Landry
C: LMA/Chris Johnson

DNP-(knee): Oden, Camby

Though you have to admit...on the days when Oden, Camby and Roy are inactive we'll have around 36M worth of players sitting in suits on the bench. That's just about what Sacramento paid their team last year.

you can look at it glass half empty, it isnt going to change anything, and i will continue to smile and dream big

also, elliot williams will be a dwyane wade clone :)

Well, at least we agree there. Except I think Elliot can jump higher.

I'm all for it. I'd love to get a guy like Landry on the team.

I would love to get Landry! If anyone has seen him play against us he has had some great games. I also love his toughness which we need since LA decided to crawl back into is soft shell again at the end of last season.

If the league decides to eliminate NO, Charlotte and Sactown we could get him in the dispersal draft.

I would like to know why he was talking about Portland. I think he would be a great addition to the front line.

The minus is that Landry has not shown he can shoot isolations all day. Useless. The plus is that getting him now would prevent message boards from dying all through 2011-12.

How about Juwon Howard? Do you have any thoughts on that guy or whether it was a smart move to let him go?

It's great to find followers. You are right. We wouldn't be having this discussion if we had kept Juwan Howard.

Notice how they kept it a secret about who got rid of him? They're acting guilty, like they know they did something wrong.

You mean a perfect fit and he would be interested in us? Don't see that everyday. To bad we can't do anything about it right now. :(

we should take a cue from the miami booster and woo free agents on PAs yacht with prostitutes

Landry is maybe the most ideal backup 4 in the NBA. Knows his role, can put the ball through the hoop, a great teammate and can mix it up on defense.

I know teams (etc) can't talk about players during the work stoppage, players can talk about teams?

Yes, the players union has not placed any limits on what the players can or can not talk about.

The Mikes can't discuss anything with the players, right? I wonder, though, if, say, 1080 has invited any of the Blazer players to come in and chat on-air?

Yes he would be a huge asset for the Blazers. I guess every team will have a problem offering him a big contract espeically if he comes off the bench. Under most CBA rumors it will be tough for everyone, they all will be hurting. So I guess we have just a good of a chance as most teams. But I doubt it will happen.
