So many great posters here that I have not read in a while. This is like bad for my free time, i'll have to start reading and posting again. And the few posters here that were pre-BBF seem to be excellent posters as well. So looks like we got the best of all worlds. And, we get the Blazers!

I don't know if you have read the other threads and already noticed this, but take a second to enjoy the speed here too. I'm guessing without all those ads, you can surf the threads here a lot faster.

The tangible cause of all of this (political threads being moved and satisfaction not coming quickly enough) was too trivial for all of this, I would say. But I think what emerged after that was fairly deep philosophical differences. As a group, this community seems to bridle at authoritarian administration, while BBF feels compelled (either by Vertical Scope or their own philosophy) to enforce rules strenuously. BBF has the right to do things the way they like, but this group moved somewhere that fit them better. I think that's a reasonable proposition on each side.

Back in the 70s, there was this really great tavern in Eugene named "Duffy's". One day, the owner announced a modest price increase for sandwiches - not the beer mind you, just the sandwiches. For whatever reason, this led to a bunch of the regulars getting PO'ed and going elsewhere.

I really liked Duffy's, but eventually I abandoned them because it was more important to hang with my friends.


No offense to the folks who run this site, but I really wish this wouldn't have happened.
