I was on a jury once where a guy ripped off a car that was locked with The Club. Turns out it’s really easy to avoid the hardened steel of The Club by hacksawing through the steering wheel.

Seems like it'd be hard to drive.

Also can help with keyless remote auto thefts (thieves can have amplifiers). Who knows, may help, may not.

There have been more break ins and thefts lately in my hood.

Put an I Love ANTIFA bumper sticker on your car and you'll be fine.

Between 1970 and today, US automobile fuel efficiency roughly doubled for both cars and light trucks. During the same time the US population increased by 54% and the number of vehicles on the road grew by 141%. Moreover, there has been a steady shift away from cars to vans, SUVs and pickups. That shift alone has negated about 40% of the fuel savings from more stringent fuel economy standards.

So it sounds like Carvana is going to do a "delayed return" on my vehicle once it get approved by their "Treasury Team". From what they explained to me, they will be purchasing the vehicle back at what I paid. I may not get reimbursed for the interest that I paid on my loan, but this should still net me a few thousand dollars since I was making extra principal payments for the past 16 months.

I did have a full vehicle inspection done at the Nissan dealership, and they didn't uncover any structural damage, but there is nothing anyone can do to get the structural damage that was reported on the CarFax removed. So it's kind of moot.

This has been a real effing hassle, but if I can come out ahead AND stick it to the man, it'll be worth it.

@EL PRESIDENTE I see your taste in shoes matches your taste in cars. A Camry FAMS? You just lost a TON of street cred!

Carvana snafu update:

They bought back the car, and have picked it up. 10-day payoff has been received by my financing company and 1 of two checks have arrived to refund me. It was only the difference between what I owed and what I purchased it for. Still waiting on another check to rectify the payments that I made on the vehicle while it was in possession. I'm not holding my breath. All things considered, I've got rid on my monthly payment and am in a my '94 beamer for only $900 of my own money. There's a chance I can still pocket a couple thousand bucks, but again, not holding my breath. I mean, take a look at their stock price right now. They aren't trying to give away MORE money...

If you don't get the 2nd check contact the consumer division of the Oregon Attorney General's office.

So, I rear ended someone the other week and now the insurance is doing a total loss on my car.

Its a BAD market out there right now, but I need a car. Looking at probably getting a 2-3 year old civic, but prices are way inflated.

Anyone use any of the online spots: Carvana, Shift, Carmax or any other thoughts?
i used Kelley Blue Book when dealing with my insurance company. Then I looked at what comparable cars were selling for in my neighborhood. I found out the only comparable used car was for sale in Bend. I asked them if they wanted to pay me to goo look at it. End of discussion.

Oh I've been following their business dealing the last couple months pretty closely. The father/son owners are real pieces of shit.. All things considered, I'm happy to just be done with it all. They've payed off what I owed and I am into my new car $0, and that's after getting a new rear differential installed. It was a headache to get to this point so hitting breakeven feels good.

If you have time you should file what has happened here - https://www.doj.state.or.us/consumer-protection/

I got more than I thought I would.

Nooooo! Just a gas leak and I have the solution, but not something I was stoked to see.

I have a story to tell related to cars. Tuesday, May 31, I was driving home on I-295 North when the rear right tire fuckin blew out. I felt the car shutter and I realized I'm going to pull over at 75 MPH while in the center lane. If the front tire blew, I probably would be scrapping asphalt and puking all over my shirt. I looked out the rear window, saw a dark stream of rubber odor smoke and somehow managed to stop the car on the tire debris. A State trooper pulled up behind me as I was changing the tire. I'm ridiculous. I should have used my car service plan but decided to change it on my own. He was cool. Very young and affable. He said he would make sure I get into the traffic when I left. I went to a Mavis Tire Discount store and found out their brand was $200 while the name brand was way more. I had to get it done. My 2012 Honda Accord is tough! It survived a deer hit in the front grill, a snow drift ice dent and two stupid girls ramming me in the turn lane with the front tire blowing out and being forced to guide my Honda into the parking lot of the only porno store in my Twp. I did open the door to look and find out the address number. I called my wife and told her I was hit by two girls and knocked into a porno store lot. She, at first, thought it was one of my jokes. The car was not totaled. Behold, the gas tank feed tube to the engine was knawed by a rat and I inherited that crap too.

SO, if you want a car that can take it, choose a 2012 Honda Accord.>>>>>>>>>>>>> IMG_2747.JPG <<<< 5/15/18 Actual damage from the clueless girl.

Fuel line?
Yup, looks like it. Got it home and put a drip pan under it over night and it completely stopped. Luckily I have my mechanic replacing my starter this weekend already, so he can take a look at it.

You think someone was stealing gas?
