I have no beef with cp3. With that said devin harris is more clutch than jkidd thats what the article basically said. Thats why its a "knock" on jason kidd. I didnt say the article was valid, but the fact that it was published gives it some kind of credibility.

Botton line is that the article states that devin harris is more clutch than Jkidd when the mavs did the trade so that Jkidd could be their "Clutch Player". Kinda ironic if you ask me.

Paul's 6th in assists AND scoring. Only other player who breaks top 10 in both is Nash: 1st in assists, 10th in scoring.
 
Hall of Famer Kidd > Devin Harris who hasn't be a franchise guy like Kidd, Diop sitting on the bench and won't be resigned, a depleted old retired KVH, Ager who? + 2 picks.

Sidenote: check out Ginobli's crazy 4th time stats.

Ginobli 43.3 points per 48 min, on 57.4 FG%, 7.2 rp48, 10.5 ap48, 2.6 TO, 0.4 blocks, 3 steals per 48
Lebron: 59.1 points, 49%, 9.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 3.3 TOs, 2.4 blocks, 3.1 steals
Kobe: 52.3 points, 45%, 8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 4.5 TOs, 0.4 blocks, 0.4 steals

Ginobli is hitting 8% more shots than Lebron and 12% more than Kobe, with the most assists and least turnovers.

You forgot about Trenton Hassel!!
 
Hall of famer who hasnt delivered what the mavs wanted from him. 0-11 i believe against +.500 teams and about to miss the playoffs. The nets got in DH the point guard of the future, he is young and has loads of talent and could very well be a top 3 pg in the east next year with one whole season with the nets. And also you can add that we got 2 of the 3 first round picks from the mavs in the next 3 years. Also add hassel and agger whom i think should be put in package to get better younger players or picks. And then Diop a decent big man who can play decent minutes on the defensive side of the court. KVH.. well you can call him a facilitator, his contract made this trade possible and after this season we dont have to pay him a cent, and yeah i almost forgot 3 mill in cash $$$.
Who did we give up? Antoine wright.. um hell be in the euroleague in 2 years you will see. Malik allen.. IF he is the big man that mavs need to guard the bigs in the west then you are screwed BIG TIME. and Jkidd of course, but we all know what he brings to the table when put in the right situation.

Well, Jason Kidd was 29 when he led the Nets to the Finals the first time. So, I guess Devin has plenty of time to prove himself.
 
It's really an eyeopener for an outsider (non-Nets fan) to see the transformation that has come about in the fans post-Kidd era. Back when he was with the team, everyone loved him and his game, but now he seems like one of the most hated players in the NBA (on this forum of course). I know it was a rocky ending, but the man still served the team for a long tenure and did a heck of a job. All that seems to have gone down the drain, and all people remember is his decline.

It's kind of sad to see, how people can change their perception of someone else in so little time, especially considering how much Kidd has done for the Nets franchise.

Everyone appreciates how he rescued the Nets from being an insignificant franchise and brought us to the finals. I don't think many Nets fans would be so upset with him if he just keep his mouth shut.

Saying things like, "There's no light at the end of this tunnel" or "I'll go to the Hall of Fame as a Mav" or "I played on the wrong side of the river" have made him come off as someone who just didn't appreciate playing here at all.

Yeah, Devin was clutch in the 4th qtr in Dallas when he didn't get into foul trouble or wasn't held back by Avery.

Devin Harris is good. But he will never be in the same level as Jason Kidd. If you have'nt heard yet, Jason Kidd is mentioned alongside Magic and Stockton as one of the best point guards of all time. I repeat, ALL-TIME! Hate him all you want, fact is Jason Kidd is one of the greats!

Kidd is either done or close to being done. One more year, two at the most. He aint going back to the Finals. Harris is more likely to go to the Finals. He was there two years ago. Number of Finals victories for Kidd: 2. Number of Finals victories for Harris: 2.

Harris has set or tied 11 career highs since joining the Nets, in minutes, points, assists, rebounds, offensive rebounds, field goals, three pointers, steals, blocks and field goals and three pointers attempted. He took the Nets moribund offense and turned it to a team capable of scoring 125 points a game. He was the youngest point guard in recent memory to take a team to the NBA Finals and was the point guard on a team that won 67 games. He just turned 25. He will improve...a lot.

Diop ain't signing? Really? Assume that he wants a four-year contract averaging $4.5 million, $18 million, next season. Except for the Nets and the three or four teams under the cap--the powerhouse Bobcats, Sonics, and Grizzlies for certain--any team wanting to sign him for that money will need to dip into their MLE to do it. Number of teams that signed players to MLE contracts worth as much or more than that $18 million: Zero. Sacramento came close, guaranteeing Mikki Moore $13.5 million on a $17.4 million contract. Why? because signing players to contracts that big almost certainly guarantees a luxury tax payment. Yeh, the Mavs could try to resign him. Will they? Maybe. And dont forget where Diop lives in the off-season? Dakar, Senegal? No. Dallas, Texas? No. Cherry Hill, NJ? Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner.

As for the picks, I like the idea of having UNPROTECTED Mavs picks in 2009 and 2011, when Kidd will be 38, Dirk will be 33, Terry will be 35, Dampier will be 36, etc. And most of thsoe guys will still be under contract by then.

well everyone here and his brother still loves K-MART, MIKKI MOORE and EDDIE HOUSE even though they left for more money...why? they never had imaginary migraines and gave it their all when they were here and never said anything bad about the nets franchise unlike JKIDD and ZO who would sell their souls to get a piece of metal on their fingers...then blabber on like a bitch about how the nets is a devil's organization in trying to justify their narcissism...

Apparently he didn't appreciate the team or the fans as much as they appreciated him. You expect people to take his insults towards their team and still love him? They're fans of the team first and the player second (at least most are
).

Everything will calm down in time and he'll eventually be rembered fondly for what he did for the franchise. Just not in the wake of this mess and stinging comments.

You dont get it do ya? Jkidd HAS to take the mavs to the finals and win it for that trade to have been a success. DH has proved to us that he is a good talent to have on our team, and that is all we ask him at this time. Maybe in the future when he is in his prime, maybe then it will be a priority to win it all. Now we are just rebuilding and trying to find the right mix of players and coaches to get to that level once again. So far we have started out pretty good.

Peoples perception change my friend. All he has done since leaving our team is bashing us, the fans and our organization. so of course he deserves all the shit he gets, specially from nets fans. " I played on the wrong side of the Hudson", "When i go in to the HOF, i will go as a Mav" " Thorn isnt a doctor" I mean come on i respected the man for so long and had his back but enough is enough.

NOONE said Devin Harris's Career is better or will be better at the end of their tenures. Im just stating the fact taht that article had devin harris ranked 3rd for most clutch pgs "THIS YEAR" and Jkidd was ranked 5th. And that is ironic because the mavs executed this trade because of Jkidd "Clutch play to win ball games" while giving up Harris, a more clutch player than jkidd himself THIS YEAR.

yes the all-time great jason kidd played for the nets but right now the aging kidd is playing for the mavs...and for $20M a pop!
