I'm talking over-the-top homerism that would defend his lack of leadership, his injury problems, his demands on the ownership, his lack of conditioning in the offseason, and his refusal to drive/dunk when he recovered. When he pulled that stunt in '05, secretly wanting to be traded and half-assing it for half the season, it was pretty much the last straw. </div>

I remember I used to argue with my friends over who was a better - Carter or Bryant? At one point, it was pretty close

I spent a fair amount of time defending Carter back in the days.

Hey guys,

Fans have the right to do what they want to at an NBA game. These league players are professional and should handle whatever criticisms or chants come their way during the course of a game. Will the fans who are not part of Toronto or Toronto fans calm down. We take offense to great players who have left the city on bad terms, ie Carter and McGrady and to some extent Mike James. We did not boo Doug Christie, oh, and also we did not boo Alonzo Mourning who clearly should have been booed, not reporting to Raptors training camp, because of SUPPOSED injury and then having the raptors pay him off so that he could end up playing for the Heat, winning the the NBA Championship the following year. What about his boos?

No, Toronto did not do that. Every NBA team has history, and we only have that 'What have you done for me lately' mentality. LA was just as bad w/ Shaq and Toronto is just as bad w/ Carter. So get over the MVP chants and stop complaining and defending Carter on why he should not get booed, because that's the way how fans are. Hey, isn't that what good rivalries are all about?

Here's another point, who was beloved in the T. Dot, Tie Domi and after that classless incident w/ his wife and Belinda Stronach, Toronto wants nothing to do w/ him.

Learn your histories NBA Fans. We are all-sensitive and extremists. That's why we are fans.

^Actually LA cheered Shaq on his return, and Philly did the same for AI. Toronto is by far the worst city for it, mainly due to their retarded media.

Exactly. Vince should at least get a mixed reaction.

Well the media is part of it but if people do not like Vince and want to boo him than it's their prerogative. If anything, it shows that Toronto fans are passionate about their team. I'd rather there be a reaction than none at all.

You can't compare AI's and Shaq's situations to Vince's. They're different situations.

I really don't understand why Carter has to react like that. Sure Bosh isn't an MVP candidate, but there's no point of looking stupid. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he might be mad that he isn't getting that spotlight.
