I dont know if I like this trade tobe honest, we gain potential scoring & entertainment(if Carter, returns to his somewhat exposive former self) But we lose alot of defense & heart. I dont want to see Zo go? He was our interior single handly and even tho he is only a shell of his former self, their is still not to many guys that compete harder then Zo on the basketball court. I hate the look of our interior now. We are relying on the likes off Jason Collins & Nenad Krstic to carry the load in the post area, hmmm thats not going to cut it over a course of 82 games. Zo is a major loss for the Nets in this deal. In a fanstasy world the Raptors would buy Zo out and he decides to chose to comeback to Jersey instead of going to Miami.
Eric Williams is a class act. And I feel bad for the guy because he was happy coming back to his hometown & playing for the Nets. And he was a big part of keeping this team together while Kidd was out. He didnt start off the year on a strong offensive note but as the year was coming along, he was getting stronger.
Aaron Williams wasnt apart of the team this year. The draft picks hurt our re-building but I doubt we do full fledged rebuilding now. So this team is going to have to mesh into a strong unit, hard to rebuild with Kidd, Jefferson, now Vince Carter's contract on the books.
Anyway, the main thing is Vince Carter better show some heart, cause Zo(at this point in his career) & E-Will werent as talented. But those cats wore they hearts on their sleeve and you know they were going to complete. And be leaders as well.
And Coach Frank better put a big memo in Vince Carter's locker that reads : This is Richard Jefferson's Team....
If he realizes that and competes at a high level then this can turnout successful for the Nets. Iam pretty sure Nike like this, they have some marketing around these two connecting them. And the seats in the gym will be filled every night, does that add up to wins we shall see.
