...the elbow scares me...guess we'll just have to see what he looks like in rehab.

...^^^ big money for this year and next, but he'll have to really pick up the pace if he wants that 2016 vested option to kick in..

...but yeah, like you said, I'm not sure Philly can realistically get much in return for Lee...between his injury questions and his salary, it's a little scary.

In addition to getting someone Cashman must also get rid of someone. Getting tired of seeing the Yankees run Soriano out there, and Kelly Johnson has got to get gone as well. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

...yeah, I'm sure they offered the Cubs a good package of prospects and I know the Cubs could use a catcher...but Chicago felt differently I guess.
...but as far as getting Lee, I don't think he'll merit much in return considering his elbow problem and his salary.

He's making 25M this season & is due another 25M next season. With a 27.5M option for 2016. That's a shit load of money to take on which IMO you may not see much of a return on with his bad arm. Not sure I'd like to see the Yanks take on that chance.

If its only money, done deal. As far as the package for Samardijza....who is Addison Russell? Lol, Barry Larkin with power? Isn't that Alex Rodriquez?

...I think Russell was about the 7th highest rated prospect...or something like that.

11 on the MLB website, 4th highest SS, actually the cubs have a higher rated SS in their system as well. Oh, and no pitching...so this deal is very curious.

Also don't they already have a pretty good proven SS in Stalin Castro?

lol Cliff Lee is the new Randy Johnson

pursue him via trade 900 times only to finally get him when he's a fossil and a POS

with that in mind, fuck Peter Gammons for helping derail the 2004 trade-to-be, because that would've probably been enough to see that team win a World Series; certainly wouldn't have blown 3-0 in that ALCS (not that it's really an excuse regardless, but still...).

Dan, in the case of CLee, he actually knows how to pitch with the stuff he has on any given day. The little unit, no so much.

Again, if its a cash deal and a PTBNL...I'm all for it. The guy can eat a lot of innings.

I'd rather see Chris Sale, available over Cliff Lee....his elbow also scares me...!

Just say no to another expensive, has-been, injured, super expensive, didn't come to the yanks when he could have lee. And as for JOKE-MAN the only thing he needs to do is have his ass FIRED

Here's some rumored trading block pitchers;

David Price
Cole Hamels
Jon Lester
Ian Kennedy,
Cliff Lee
Scott Feldman
Jorge De La Rosa,
Erik Bedard

...and maybe even Burnette (ducks and runs for cover)

Maybe we can call Pavano back....(ducks and digs a hole)...!

:shitstorm: OH NOoooo....!!!!

:deadhorse:

:drumroll:

I remember an early season rumor that the Yankees were allegedly talking with the White Sox on a possible Cervelli for Beckham trade but it fizzled. Of those pitchers listed I'd like to have Hammels but I think Philly holds on to him. When we started talking about Roberts being gone he has all of a sudden started hitting. Prado would be a nice acquisition. Yankees have a nice pile of younger pitchers good thing to see and I haven't given up on Whitley.

...^^^ yup, I hope Roberts continues to make me eat my words...my only defense is that this team has been so bad on offense that it's easy to get frustrated with pretty much all of them.

I'm starting to wonder when Gardner bats 9th and ichiro leads off.

According to this, the Yankees are linked to Danks, Cliff Lee, Joaquin Benoit, Martin Prado (Ariz INF/OF), Daniel Murphy (Mets 2B), & Chase Headly (Padres 3B), & Gordon Beckham (White Sox 2B)...

I'd love to get Murphy. Danks is due about 30M over the next 2 years. I'm wondering if Headley is EVER going to start hitting. & Beniot is a head case.

I demand another list.

If the Phillies are willing to pick up AT LEAST half of his contract - I might consider it depending on what I

Let the Phillies pick up at least half of his salary and depending on what the Yankees have to give up, I might consider it.

Honestly, I think I'd rather entertain Cole Hammels with $$$....!

Since we can't get Sale....!

Kershaw, (I know dream on, and I will), can opt out of his contract of 33 million after the 2018 season, only 4 more full seasons,

Greinke can opt out of his contract AFTER 2015, 1 more full season...! If one feels his 26 million 2016 payday would be worth advancing with more cash, only time will tell if Zack, can continue to be effective in the next year 1/2...!

but The Yanx can't wait that long, unless they want to strip the machine down and totally rebuild and modify the entire vehicle...!

at this point, I'm game for total refurbishments...! King George would never be willing to do as much, yet, a well planned future can take years, to build a hot rod out of a jalopy....No I'm not saying we got a jalopy, rather a 60 model VW Bug, on the Autobahn..! No offense intended...!
