I haven't been able to actually touch the other cats so Lashanna wouldn't scent them. But I told her I feed them, but she is the cat I love.
 
The only day I don't go walking is Saturday. It;s when I do all my house cleaning, laundry, week's cooking. But started thinking, the cats will be hungry. Put on sneakers and jacket and walked down the block to where they hang out. They were hiding, not surprising after fireworks all night. But when I called the calico and gray came. Orange probably nearby. So they got fed.

Am I a sucker?

They have names now. I had called calico Callie but a cat needs something more elegant. She is Callista. One of the moons of Jupiter is Callisto. All Jupiter's moons are named for his various paramours. He loved many women but most of all loved the beautiful boy Ganymede. The orange cat is most probably male and he is Ganymede. The gray is Io, a gender neutral name.
 
Those two timing cats! I brought their breakfast and a woman in nearest house came out to her porch. Told me she feeds them every day. So they come running to me looking so thin and pathetic and they were being fed!

Those cats have trained you and the neighbor lady very well.

They are probably sucking it in until you round the corner, then they relax into the fat cats they truly are.

Lashanna left free range poultry in exercise room. Because I might be hungry after workout. She is very considerate.
 
Domestic cats use the exact low to the ground crouch and spring. A flock of crows were in my front yard and my late cat Orlando did that exact thing, crossing the yard with unreal speed and absolute silence. The crows didn't know what was happening until he was in their midst with a bird in his mouth.
 
So when was the last time you heard of a cat eating dog stools?


I rest my case.....
 
I get groceries very early Thursday morning. I was driving down the street when Callista ran across the street to the three strays' feeding site. I had to hit brakes to avoid hitting her. She looked puzzled, what was this contraption? I apparently touch my car enough so it has my scent and she recognized it. Smart kitty.

I felt bad about disappointing her but after I returned home walked over with big bag of food.
 
Lashanna had an attack of the bads. I caught her strolling across the kitchen counters, which she knows is not allowed. While I was washing dishes this evening, she carried my knitting out the cat door, dragged it through the dirt, pulled the stitches off the needle and unwound the ball of yarn.
What has gotten into my good cat?

Chase is the one in the foreground and he's a monster and has a VERY short list of things he won't eat, which explains why he weighs almost 20 pounds and somehow outweighs the Maine-Coon cat in the background. ...Chase is 3 years old and by far the coolest cat I've ever had. Evidently, he thinks he's's a badass or something but he not because he keeps getting his ass whooped by some of these feral cats we have out here in the country. One of them took a nice little notch out his ear (pictured)...and last year he was bitten on top of his head by a rattlesnake or a moccasin. His head swole up a good bit and he was a bit slow for a couple of days but that's all. Vet said he was lucky because only one of the fangs actually pierced the skin covering his skull and wasn't able to get a lot of venom into his system...the wound did cause his hair to fall out around the wound but the wound quickly healed and his hair grew back.

Here's a pic of the top of his head about a week after he was bitten...even a snake bite won't curb his appetite. Loves pistachio ice cream, peanut butter, Italian dressing (yup), avocado (yup), pizza (yup),...and the last goes on. He mooches like a dog.

The cats actually cooperated and exited when doors opened? In what lifetime? They didn't decide to stay inside, take a nap, stop to wash up first?


Took Lashanna for exam and shots. She howled all the way there. Quiet at clinic but shaking like a leaf. Quiet on ride home until about a mile away, when she began to meow and try to escape carrier. Cats have excellent homing instincts.

Her revenge was peeing in carrier, then tracking it across the floor before deigning to wash her paws. I just washed the floor!
 
Lashanna had reaction to Feline Leukemia shot. Noticed before it often wipes cats out for a day. But today still lethargic. Began to worry. Around 4 she went outside. She prefers outdoors to cat box. Two hours later hadn't returned. Searched everywhere and called. I wouldn't expect her to wander far when not feeling well. I was afraid she was injured.
She quietly strolled home after 3 hours.

Lashanna herself again. Ate all the food in her bowl during the night. And was back in bed by the time I woke up.
 
Lashanna brought home large lizard Saturday. I put it outside. Minutes later she brought home small lizard. I put it outside. Yesterday she brought home a baby lizard, barely 2" long. I put it outside. Will she bring a lizard egg next?
 
Street in front of my house being tarred today. Road closed to traffic from 7 this morning to 5 tomorrow afternoon. Not even mail service. I was working in back yard garden and tried to keep Lashanna in back but she ran into the street and got tar on her paws. Held her in bathtub while scrubbing her paws with hot water, soap and rough side of microfiber cloth. A lot came off, judging by black water running down drain. Then called vet for advice, explained I can't bring her in because roads closed. At first they suggested I order something from Amazon, but their delivery wouldn't be able to get through. Then she suggested mineral oil, which I have. I rubbed Lashanna's paws with mineral oil, getting between toes. A lot more tar came off. Did a second mineral oil cleaning an hour later, cloth mostly clean.

Poor Lashanna lying on floor with bedraggled paws. I should probably wash them again to get excess mineral oil off, it's not toxic but probably tastes nasty and can act as laxative.

Poor kitty.
 
When she wakes up from her nap I will wipe her paws with dry cloth. Less traumatic than washing and should get some of the oil off.
