Lashanna brought home another lizard Thursday. Before I could put it outside, it scuttled under the spare refrigerator, currently unplugged and not in use. With Lashanna sitting guard, I had other things to do.
Yesterday I found the lizard's tail in the library. Lizards can detach themselves from their tails as a way to escape predators. I have no idea where the rest of the lizard is. Could still be hiding inside. Or got out on its own. Or Lashanna carried it out.
Suppose I have to tilt over refrigerator and pull out bookcases to find lizard dead or alive.
 
It's our anniversary! Lashanna's new scratching post scheduled to arrive today. Kind of hoping she does not bring me a present.

I did tell her even on our anniversary she is not allowed to sharpen her claws on the couch.
 
California outlawed declawing cats except if medically necessary. Declawing is not clipping nails, it is amputation of first joint of each toe. It leaves cats in constant pain.

Cats are predators and claws are their weapons. They need to be maintained. If given something to sharpen their claws on they will (mostly) leave furniture alone.

Anyone who can't cope with a small carnivore in the home should get a turtle or canary, not a cat.
 
Anyone who can't cope with a small carnivore in the home should get a large herbivore. If you have sufficient ceiling height, a giraffe is nice.

After all this time feeding three stray siblings down the street, the orange male Ganymede now comes to be petted as well as fed. The two females Callista and Io are shyer. They approach but still won't let me touch them. Taming feral adults takes patience.
 
Got air vents and dryer vent cleaned. They found remains of a mouse tucked in vent.
 
KitKat, a male tabby who for nine years had been unofficial greeter at Roxie Theater in San Francisco, was killed by driverless Waymo taxi.

According to witnesses, KitKat was on the sidewalk when vehicle struck him. His humans rushed him to the vet but injuries were too serious.

A memorial with flowers, cat treats, and KitKat bars was created by Roxie patrons and other human friends.

RIP.

My wife works from home. Once in a while she has to go into the office, so lets say once a week on average. When she goes in to the office, I get home before her. My wife feeds the cats in the evenings and I feed them in the mornings, except when i get home before her. On those days, they totally try to lie to her when she gets home, telling her they haven't eaten yet with thier, “I'm hungry” meows.
Its hilarious. Ill tell Chuckie to stop lying and he will look at me and drop his ears and walk away, knowing he was caught trying to get one over on us and get a double meal.
Cats are way smarter than dogs. Smart animals don't allow humans to train them unless it is on their interest to do so.

Dogs on the other hand…
 
I gave three cats down the block their breakfast and was chatting with the little calico Callista. A woman came out of her house across the street, slapped her gloves together and yelled "git!" Callista got. I protested "she's my friend". Woman said something I couldn't hear through my headphones, probably a good thing.

Most of my neighbors are nice.

I hope she gets bitten by a rat.
 
Cats will eat you if you die pretty quickly. Dogs are more loyal and will hold out longer.

Thats an easy decision for me which one I like more.
