The cat redistribution society found me again just now.
During the Blazers game, a young woman who loves animals even more than me messaged me. She had a large male cat, fixed, up to date with shots and microchipped that she had brought home from the shelter because he was going to be euthanized. She has 14 dogs and didn't think this cat would do well in her home, but she couldn't find anyone else to take him, so she asked if I would.
Of course, I can't turn away anyone or anything in need.
He'd been found in the closest city to where we live. He was heavily matted and showed other signs of neglect, but he'd already been fixed and his ear hadn't been tipped, so he either got lost or was abandoned. He seems fairly docile, although he hissed at her whenever she got too close. He just likes to lay around in his carrier.
I was not looking for another cat. I have four plus a feral that basically is mine and even comes into the house on occasion. My young male cat is kind of sensitive and I'm hoping he doesn't feel like he's being replaced. Ideally, the female kitten that keeps him busy will make the new cat feel at home and her energy now can be shared between the two boys (Reiner plays with her, but, after a while, he gets tired of her like any older sibling would).
Anyway, he's a beautiful black and white cat with some really interesting facial markings. I have him set up in an upstairs room, but he's met a couple of the housecats already and there weren't any signs of anger on either side. I'm just hoping I can give him a better life and keep the cats I have still feeling properly loved. I couldn't turn him or my friend away, though. I guess they come into your life for a reason.
