  • The coronavirus can survive on surfaces for up to 17 days, a study published Monday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.
  • The study examines two public health responses to COVID-19 outbreaks on the Carnival-owned Diamond Princess ship in Japan and the Grand Princess ship in California.
  • The virus “was identified on a variety of surfaces in cabins of both symptomatic and asymptomatic infected passengers up to 17 days after cabins were vacated...” the researchers wrote.

That's not very good news.

That's probably because those nasty cabins are covered with all kinds of live tissue. Probably a bisexual bacteria gangbang going on at a level invisible to the naked eye.

They should test for plague and polio or live Dinosaur DNA just for fun.

Wife wanted to rent an RV a couple of years back. I told her she didn't want to. She said "YES I DO, YOU'RE JUST CHEAP"

I said no you don't and I'll prove it. Took her to the rental place on the corner of sunset and gibson and walked her to the open display model.

Told her to look in the nooks and crannies. There was scuzzy slime everywhere. I asked her what she thought the rest of them were like if the display was filthy. She wanted out of there ASAP.

I am cheap but knowing she is a neat freak was the Ace up my sleeve.

So you've been banging hookers in the display model during lunch or something? Seems rather specific, "honey, go look at this model at this address. It's really dirty!"

Barfo likely has stories of burning infected ships back in the Bubonic Plague days.

Yeah I remember those days. Play video games till 3 am going to work at 4 am. lol
I'd play from 9 until 2 or so and then sleep for 4 hours. Sleep in car at lunch and then come home and eat dinner and fall asleep on the couch watching tv with my wife. She'd get so mad.

I didn't care. I loved shooting helicopters out of the sky with my tank.

They need to remaster that game if they want me to buy a PS5.

Not a remaster but this might do something for you.

Oooh. Will watch later. Thanks
Just an FYI that's mostly just a dude talking, but EA has announced Battlefield 6 is coming Q1 of 2021 so most people assume it'll be on the ps5 / and new xbox. I heard whispers that battlefield 6 was going to get a lot of time this year at e3 but with that canceled not sure when they'll show it off. I'm not into that genre of games as much as I used to be, but I'm really in tune with the video game news lol.

I would be happy playing the following games:

2003/2004 computer version of Counter Strke Half Life Mod (my all-time favorite game)

PS1 - XCom UFO Defense, Twisted Metal 2, Resident Evil

It's strange to me that counterstrike is still ridiculously popular. Good game though.

I'm really looking forward to the Final Fantasy 7 remake in a couple weeks. Course then I got an email from Amazon saying they'll probably delay my physical copy which I've had pre-ordered for years now... So, I'll probably buy the digital version and the physical version for my collection.

now this is how to derail a thread

getting back to topic, and considering I'm stuck at home, what does a virus do for fun for 17 days?

Holland America's Zaandam cruise ship with 42 people onboard experiencing 'flu-like symptoms' heads to Florida to dock next week as all 1,243 guests are told to isolate in their rooms
  • 13 guests and 29 crew members are experiencing 'flu-like symptoms' on board Holland America's Zaandam
  • The Zandaam plans to dock in Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on March 30
  • It was due to dock in Chile but was left at sea when it was refused permission
  • It is yet to gain permission to enter the Panama Canal to get to Florida
  • All 1,243 guests have been told to isolate in their rooms and, of the 586 crew members, non-essential staff are also in quarantine
  • There are no tests onboard so the extent of the outbreak is not known
  • Cruise ships have become particular hotbeds for coronavirus, with a number of liners being doomed by fatal outbreaks

I was a actually sleeping in my car during lunch at the time. I was staying up most of the night playing BF3...better than hookers.
Kind of depends on the hooker, doesn't it?

Don't know. Never paid for it. Not out of any sense of morality. Didn't wanna get an STD
Me too. I had it offered to me numerous times in Vietnam. Although, morality did play a part in it for me. Also turned down a hooker in NYC. NYC!?

This paragraph is important:

The RNA, the genetic material of the virus that causes COVID-19, “was identified on a variety of surfaces in cabins of both symptomatic and asymptomatic infected passengers up to 17 days after cabins were vacated on the Diamond Princess but before disinfection procedures had been conducted,” the researchers wrote, adding that the finding doesn’t necessarily mean the virus spread by surface.
