Channing Frye?

Just conjecture from the suns version of blazersedge, but it seems like he could certainly make some sense here, would fit Stotts' offense, and everyone has been talking about adding a little scoring punch from our bench.

We would have four very diverse bigs at that point (Lopez, Aldridge, Frye, Robinson), and it really seems like you could mix and match all of them, other than Lopez and Robinson not being a great fit together. It would probably be nice to have a big vet in case Lopez went down at that point, but I think Stotts would probably love the versatility.

He would open up the floor for Lamarcus when we really want to post him up, Robinson could go nuts on the offensive glass when we want to iso or drive n kick with Damian.

His contract isn't pretty, but only lasts two years so it's on the same expiring trend as all of our others.

Would you deal Freeland and Claver for him? It seems like the Suns would like to save the 3 mill between this year and next, and it might help them get a few more ping pong balls.

No way dude. Freeland is better than he was last year, but he's still just an average player. Robinson has so much more potential.

Same. I don't necessarily prefer that traditional frontcourt player type of guys, but I just think Freeland and Robinson are fitting in really well. I think both have the potential to grow a bit more as well. Probably never starters necessarily, but I do think they have some room to improve and are doing well with their roles thus far.

To each his own, but have you seen Frye play since he was in Portland? He's no defensive monster but his post D really improved, and I'm not so sure Freeland is much better at post D or on the boards.

Freeland is pretty close to maxed out as a player. I like him; he's smart, he plays hard, but he's sort of limited. Robinson has a lot of room left to grow just because of his physical tools ... that doesn't mean he definitely reaches his full potential, but I'd rather take what he gives you now and hope he adds some savvy and improved decision making (at both ends) as he matures.

So yeah, you're a little bit crazy.

I'm not sure what you could call me but I think we need a post scoring presence off the bench. It would make everyone's numbers go up. Not sure if we get that from Freeland or Robinson.

Channing had some heart issues affecting his health. He was unable to play during the 2012-13 season because of it.

How many post scoring threats are there off of the bench in the NBA. Elite posts orders are typically starters, aren't they?

Frye is like Patty Mills. I love his Portland personality, but don't think he would play much.

His limitations in McMillan's system wouldn't necessarily limit him in Stotts'.

One of the biggest changes to Aldridge's game comes from having Lopez/Freeland playing the Center. doing the dirty work. Allowing Aldridge to focus on doing the pretty things.

Pro's to Fry.
He can stretch the floor. Just like Orlando used to do with Howard. Four at the perimeter, 1 in the paint.
He loves Oregon, so he'd naturally fit with the fans.
He has improved on POST defense.
His play-style allows him to stay healthy(minus last year with his heart)

Cons to fry.
He stretches the floor so Offensive Rebounding isn't something he does.
Hes not a great help defender.
He doesn't block shots.(see help defense)
He isn't someone who does the dirty work.
He wasn't happy backing up Aldridge when he was here. What has changed?
Fry would play the 4, Aldridge would play the 5. works for periods of time, but not a long-term-success type of thing.
These #'s aren't really difference maker #'s that would say, take on that contract.

Good point. His defense is near max, sans some obvious polish. His offense however has some potential for growth, he was definitely a threat to score in the euro leagues.

I do think he's playing more aggressively and seems to be slightly above useless with the eyeball test, but let's not pretend that he made some colossal jump in production from last year to this year.

I think Frye would help our offense. But right now we are #1 in the league in offense. I don't think thats the problem. Freeland is a far superior defender to Frye and we saw with Hickson last year how terrible it is to not have a rim protector on the court. I think Meyers could basically contribute what Frye does if we want a stretch 5 on the court. But I don't think this team needs that type of player on the court.

To hell with statistics. If you cant see the colossal jump he has made on both ends of the floor from last year to this, then you need to get your eyes checked.
