What was surprising was Barkley’s ranking of Kevin Durant.

Barkley would put Thompson ahead of Leonard based on offensive ability, and Kenny Smith pointed out that Barkley mayhave been forgetting about Durant, but nope, the former MVP was “right there after those guys.”

If we let the numbers be the judge, then, well, uh, it’s not particularly close.

You guys agree?

I think Curry and Durant will get their shots in the GSW offense, but Thompson's numbers will suffer as a result. Wonder what that will do for team chemistry.

non-OT prediction: ......

After Curry gets paid, GS is in Luxury Tax hell. After paying the repeater tax, they should and will trade Klay.

Klay will not be as good this year due to Curry and Durant. Plus Klay is a streak shooter when he on he can kill you.

Really? I think they should move on from Green before Klay
Defense and Rebounding wins championships. Given a choice, you keep a big. Especially over a THIRD small.

That's what OKC did getting rid of Harden. Getting rid of him wasn't the problem, what they got for him was the problem.

In this case Green is the weirdo though. And i dont think he is nearly as talented as Klay.

Klay is hands down the best SG in the entire league right now.

Get a guy like Ed Davis if you want a big with defense and rebounding.

Did he say player or playa? Chuck knows about Vegas blackjack and whores. Maybe Klay has some habits we don't know about.

Don't disagree, but you need talented bigs to take pressure off your smalls.

Guys that lead the league in offensive rebounding coming off the bench don't grow on trees.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kley is traded before his contract is up.

I dont disagree either, but Green is kind of an asshole.

I think they would be better off ridding the guy that disrupts chemistry and keeping the overall better talent. They should have no problem signing vets to fill certain roles.

Charles says dumb shit sometimes....

Does anyone know if TNT is coming to Portland this year?

But that doesn't make him anywhere close t the second best player in the world. He can't even create his own shot and doesn't make his teammates better. He's a great shooter coming off screens and a solid defender, but he's not even in the discussion with LeBron, Curry or Durant.

Last year Klay was assisted on 72.5% of his 2-point filed goals and a whopping 92.0% of his 3-point FGs.

For comparison...

Steph Curry:
2-point FG - assisted on 37.2%
3-point FG - assisted on 54.7%

Kevin Durant:
2-point FG - assisted on 51.8%
3-point FG - assisted on 64.0%

And, a couple players we are familiar with:

Damian Lillard:
2-point FG - assisted on 20.3%
3-point FG - assisted on 47.2%

C.J. McCollum:
2-point FG - assisted on 20.3%
3-point FG - assisted on 72.1%

Thompson benefits greatly from the GS system that relies on multiple great distributors (Curry, Livingston and Green). Put him on a team where he is the No. 1 option and his production likely goes down and his efficiency definitely takes a hit.

Not even second best on his own team.

Not even top 3, really. Green's combination of versatile D and passing is unmatched by anyone in the league.

Lamb, Martin, and Adams was a bad deal? If you have to deal him, that is.

Your saying C.J. is better than Klay?

Nice post, but in no way was I insinuating Klay is the 2nd best player in the world. Obviously Durant, Leonard, Curry, Lillard, Lebron and more are better.

I just would rather keep Klay than Draymond Green if I was GS

Your saying C.J. is better than Klay?

Jump to conclusions much?

Where the fuck did I say anything remotely like that?

The stats I listed show that C.J. is more capable of creating his own shot. That's not the same thing as saying he's a better player.

BNM

Barkley is a fucking idiot
