Yusuf Nurkic was player of the week last week remember? And he killed last night. The first play of the game was designed for Nurk. He does a better job with Nurk than Stotts ever did. Nurk hated Stotts.I will say he needs to figure out how to use Nurk better.
And winning on the road
But, he's looking good as a coach.
we always have a game like this from time to time, but track record shows that we will return to the iso bball, maybe as soon as tonightThe change that I saw from Chauncey is that our offense did not bog down into one-on-one play without moving the ball.
It is working so much better...The fact that he'll play Nas and Ant already puts him ahead of Stotts.
I think you have this situation very wrong. Chauncey probably should go against his principles at this point and coach to the roster he has but the dude thinks that by sticking it out and not reverting to what this team used to do, that when the guys that don't fit are gone, he'll not have to start from the foundation and reteach shit.I'll be appreciative when his ass is fired.

The guy said without saying that the roster is going to change before the deadline. After what I saw from him and Dame tonight I'll now be shocked if we don't see a couple of moves that are multi player trades. That's exciting because I like Chauncey's philosophies of switching and meeting the P&R at the level, sometimes with blitzes and his offensive philosophy of similar play to what we've seen in the past with Dame, just with more movement off the ball. He just doesn't have the players that are made for that stuff. I'm excited to see what he can do with players that are.
If you're being serious and not sarcastic, I'm not sure if he's great at every part of coaching but he's fantastic at communicating and I really want to see what the ideas he's laid out as his plan would look like with a roster that even suits them a little. I think the criticism on his ability to adjust and his subbing patterns are unfair because his guys can't adjust and he doesn't have guys to sub in at 4 and 5 that should be getting any PT in the league.Chauncey is a GREAT coach and the trade stuff makes me excited.
He's not being serious. Very much the opposite... I get why it's hard to tell though. If you're being serious and not sarcastic, I'm not sure if he's great at every part of coaching but he's fantastic at communicating and I really want to see what the ideas he's laid out as his plan would look like with a roster that even suits them a little. If you are then we're both on team Chauncey but I'm not quite as enthusiastic but I'm hoping with change, I will be.Lol I was being serious.
Chauncey is a GREAT coach and the trade stuff makes me excited.
I would argue that point unless it's inarguable.
I don't want to believe that so I'm going to pretend I didn't read this post!Lol I was being serious.
He’s had a year of coaching experience before he became our head coach. Olshey just wanted a “ splashy” hire to act like he was cutting edge or innovative.
Some of the best coaches in the league right now are guys that worked their way up. The guy in OKC, Jenkins in Memphis, even the dude in Utah who was given that job in the hopes of a complete rebuild.
Coaches who have over achieved despite their rosters.
Well, Chauncey is certainly beset with problems... [rimshot]2 of those 3 guys have as much coaching playoff success as Billups so it might be a bit premature to call them "some of the beset coaches in the league."
I turned to my wife last night during the game and said...."I can't remember the Blazers playing this hard of defense. It's been a long time".I'm all in...Chauncey is getting results and that's after a pretty major roster overhaul with a lot of youth.
took what... a couple weeks and we have a 173 post thread demanding such?Gotta have that paaaaaitence.
Until the next 2 game losing streak, where the same people will want Chauncey fired, completely ignoring the fact we are going to suck all year no matter the coach we have lol
