Im getting married In June and im trying to figure out a decent honeymoon. Our budget is around $1500. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I can do for the Honeymoon. She said she would be good with a road trip or something but that seems a little lame to me... Anyway... any ideas? The wedding is costing more than expected.
This might be out of your budget, but what about a Vacation Rental By Owner, San Juan Islands? May be hard to find a vacancy that soon away, but maybe. Or go to Sonoma County and do winetasting.

Go to Hawaii. Easily doable for under $1500 if you don't go to the luxury resorts. Cabo is probably doable as well, flights are probably cheaper.

edit shit: Flights to hawaii are expensive right now.

double edit: so are cabo.

both are like double what I usually pay for flights! fucking Obama.

Hawaii is much more expensive than Mexico.

Eh, I do Hawaii cheap. Its not so bad. Then again, I'm usually on Oahu, stay in the $99 hotels in Waikiki and eat local places.

Las Vegas. NBA Summer League.

Go up into the Olympic National Forest. There are some great places to stay up there, and it is absolutely magical up there.

mapquest says 11-12 hrs, and $350 in gas each way.

Here's a great site for magical getaways:

$350 in gas each way? What the hell type of car are you driving? I drove from San Diego to Seattle and back for Christmas. On the way up, I filled up in SD, north of LA, Sacramento and then somewhere close to the CA/OR border. That is 4 fill ups, at $60ish a pop = $240 to go over twice as far.

And Map Quest? What is this, 2005?

We had no May Grays or June Gloom last year. This year, so far also.

Two years ago we had no summer t all. It was all gloom. Last winter it was in the 30s at night and 50s in my house in the mornings. This past winter, I didn't have to wear long pants.

Spoke too soon. The gray/gloom is back. I don't really mind it though. If I need sun, I'll drive 20 minutes north.

Portland to San Francisco........... 635 miles/20 miles/gal ~32 gallons of gas. Multiplied at $4/gallon = $128.

So yeah..... clearly Maris is a wee bit disconnected (if that wasn't made clear by his use of mapquest).

Have all you twerps ever considered that sure, your Kias run real cheap, but Maris drives a $250,000 RV?
