China has announced it is suspending all coal imports from North Korea until the end of the year in a move which will deal a major financial blow to the Pyongyang regime.

The surprise announcement by the Chinese Commerce Ministry is a sign of Beijing’s increasing reluctance to prop up the North Korean regime if it carries out further nuclear tests.

Coal is North Korea’s largest export item and it is believed to have been dependent on China for trade and aid since its economy collapsed in the late 1990s.

You notice that China waited till the end of winter before doing this. And the suspension ends once the next winter starts. So there's no sacrifice from China and no damage in trade to North Korea.

Good. I figured it was only a matter of time before China got tired of Kim's bullshit. Let's see if he can be a good little tin pot so that Beijing doesn't extend that suspension.

This came out at right about the same time Trump told China they would honor and adhere to One China Policy. A lil quid pro quo going on. But he's right China needs to take a greater role in reeling North Korea in.
