Basically, they were studying the exact family of viruses. If their safety standards are bad, then it’s very easy for one of them to get infected. Once it leaves the lab, it’s game over.

Heil Witmer is no different than Anti-Trump and posting trump as Hitler, so we can shut that one down.

so two people with confederate flags out of thousands? Okay, we can call those dumb fucks outliers.

again, the statement made was confederate flags all over the place. False statement.

I appreciate you finding them though

Can you find me a person who has a confederate flag and doesn’t like Trump?

China has never been transparent about anything …..ever. This is not breaking news if you've ever been there you'd know how off limits certain things and places are to travelers. Whether it's connected to germ warfare is possible but like most things....they're not going to cop to it in your lifetime. The Taiwan press has been all over this since it broke originally. They tied it to the Hong Kong rebellions. Their research ended up thinking it's possible but probably speculation concerning the conspiracy theory. China fucked up...lost face...now the world has to fix it.

Probably not, but I can find thousands that sport the communist flag that was part of a mass genocide of tens of millions of people.

The Guardian is even picking up the story:

This story is gaining a lot of traction in the media. Figured it qualifies for its own thread.

Intelligence officials weigh possibility coronavirus escaped from a Chinese lab

WASHINGTON — Although the the U.S. intelligence community early on dismissed the notion that the coronavirus is a synthesized bioweapon, it is still weighing the possibility that the pandemic might have been touched off by an accident at a research facility rather than by an infection from a live-animal market, according to nine current and former intelligence and national security officials familiar with ongoing investigations.

After extensive research, scientists in the U.S. and elsewhere have determined that the new strain of the coronavirus discovered in China in December is, as Chinese officials have maintained, of natural origin, but they are taking seriously that its route to human infection may have started in a lab in Wuhan.

“It’s definitely a real possibility being bandied about at the high levels of the administration,” said one of the sources, who has knowledge of China and national security.

“We are actively and vigorously tracking down every piece of information we get on this topic and we are writing frequently to update policymakers,” an intelligence official told Yahoo News. The intelligence community “has not come down on any one theory.”

I fucking hate Trump and I wouldn't be surprised if this was intentional. Doesn't absolve him from anything whatsoever though. And now his idiot supporters and their confederate flags jamming up the streets in protestto open up the country. I wonder why there are so many confederate flags at these things? Hmmm.....
This was your initial statement. So you were just exaggerating? At the time I made the response I saw none, fortunately @SlyPokerCat corrected me by showing only 4 out of the thousands that showed up.

Umm 3 were reportedly of the same flag, so I believe its an astounding number of 2. #Getyourfactsright

LOL...a poster here GUESSED 3 of the pictures were of the same flag. There was no "report". I'm fairly certain there was more than one confederate flag there

personally, I don't really give a shit about those flags, however many there were. I've seen these kind of right-wing protests before and there are almost always those flags present. It's a favored accessory of the mindset

I'm much more disgusted by the morons packing around assault weapons. I have not one gram of respect for anybody who does that. It's juvenile.

Hey I made no mention of whee it was reported.. just that it was. :)

Other than that I agree with you 100%.

“Sensationalism Journalism” story. Meat processing plants are considered, “essential workers” so the typical mitigation programs wouldn’t of helped them. Fail

The virus had to first come from somewhere outside the plant, right? If they and their neighbors had been staying home when not at work, maybe nobody who works at the plant would have gotten it in the first place.

Yes, the report was the lab was studying the natural occurring virus, but they were growing possible natural occurring mutations. Patient zero came from that lab.

We're talking about the Smithfield pork plant in SD. Pretty sure the virus didn't originally come from there, unless the Chinese are even trickier than we think.

I repeat. That processing plant is an essential business. The guidelines wouldn’t of stopped them from getting it, since it wouldn’t of stopped them from shutting down.
