Meh. My cynical side says "October Surprise". Nobody even knows if anything is happening, yet Obama is going to address the nation?

What for? Plus, if these threats are widespread, shouldn't the President be in a secure location?

What if they fucking blew up with a nuke on them on a tarmac? Divert them back to Dubai, sequester them, and get our guys in the middle east over to them.

That's ridiculous. Bring potential unkown bombs onto US soil for "forensic" reasons? Shit, if Obama tries to sell that one, he'll be toast.
 
National Security Adviser: "Mr. President, we have an unknown number of planes coming from the middle east that may have unknown explosive devices on them. What should we do?"

Prez: "Hmm, best bet seems to bring them on US soil, gather up the forensic teams, and hope they don't blow up with a nuke or chemical bombs while we're waiting."

That's quite insightful. You'd make an awesome President OR National Security Adviser.

So, you think this is an "October Surprise" (thus fake) yet Obama is simultaneously putting lots of lives at risk by bringing nuked-up airplanes to the US.

I said my cynical side. Also, you still haven't answered why he risked bringing nuked-up airplanes to the US. Seems like a dumb decision to me.
 
Bush did the same sort of thing with his elevated "terror threats" before the 2004 election. Why not be cynical about these things?

If Al Qaeda actually got their hands on a nuke they would not send it to us via UPS or Fed Ex.

It would most likely be sent by cargo ship to a major US city where the likelihood of it reaching US soil is exponentially higher.

Your nuke spin is not realistic.

Why would AQ send bombs from Yemen to a synagouge in Chicago via UPS? They don't have anybody here who could do the same thing?

Smells fishy to me...

They may have already swept them for bombs. That seems pretty probable to me. Forensics or other study doesn't necessarily mean bomb searches.

Do you honestly believe anybody would ever do that that isn't a terrorist? Do you have any idea how easy it is to detect a nuke especially if you are searching a known specific area? Wow man you get rattled easy. "Oh yea were going to fly planes that are going to blow up back to our own country, because were all dumb asses." Right. Good luck with that one.
