Three things:
1) Oden's status is still VERY unclear
2) Rudy is gone, gone, gone
3) Joel won't be ready for the season start
You can summarize all of Cho's interviews in one all-encompassing statement
"Everyone is working really hard to do what is best for the franchise. "
His interviews are more boring than KP's. They sorta give credence to the whole "YES MAN" theories about why we hired him.

Is Oden behind schedule?
"Greg Oden is on schedule."
So he'll be ready for opening night?
"We're pleased with his progress and I don't know whether he'll be ready to play opening night or not. It just depends on how it's coming."
Did he actually say, "gone, gone, gone?"
) Tonight, Cho tells Blazersedge that Oden's patellar bone "looks healed both on the X-ray and the CT scan but there's no way to conclusively tell how strong it is until you start putting it under stress." Stress, in this case, refers to increasing amounts of activity. "We have a couple months until the season," Cho said, repeating that the team will not rush Oden through the rehabilitation process. "Eventually, the bone will get stronger and stronger."
Some Oden clarification (if some of you nobs can wake yourself long enough to read it)

Sorry if that's not enough sunshine pumping for the care-bear gang.

How is he able to give an estimate on Joel's return but not Oden's? Makes no sense.

it all comes down to what he does.

How does not wanting to say something he really does not know the answer to equate to being a "Yes Man"? And like wise how does being boring and uninformative mean that either. Bob Whitsit would never answer a question. For him it was all about keeping a poker face. Cho's job is not to entertain or keep us informed. I am not sure what you guys expect him to say. It is not about toeing the company line. It is about playing it smart. I could care less what he says, it all comes down to what he does.
Exciting time so far though right?

It's not his job to be exciting.

It is important to remember the Cho is a lawyer, and he often speaks like one. People need to get used to it. He is not likely to answer beyond the minimum needed and will not likely speculate about something that he really doesn't know (Will Oden be ready). He is not a Yes Man, he is an attorney.

You're about as fun as a stick aren't you?
I didn't say HE was supposed to be exciting. I said "exciting times."
Is this the part where you tell me following a basketball team isn't supposed to be exciting either?
So Cho and Oden are now in a "relationship"? Not that there is anything wrong with that...
This afternoon, Portland Trail Blazers general manager Rich Cho told 1080 AM The Fan that center Greg Oden was "on schedule" in his knee rehabilitation process but that he was unable to provide a recovery timeline because, "When I spoke with the doctors and the trainer, it's hard to say how fast the bone will heal."
