Coroner's have confirmed Chris Cornell died from suicide by hanging...damn

I had a serious moment with this news this morning. It's so sad. He is a fucking legend. Cornell, Weiland, George Michael, Bowie, Prince, Cohen we have lost an insurmountable amount of talent over the course of the last year or so. Hard to take, man. Really hard to take.....

It's hard to fathom.

Fuck man. He's richer, better looking than me and got to sing for a living. I don't know what made him do it but if he can't stand to live what are we all doing it for?

It hurts because Kurt happened when I was young and Layne and Scott Weiland you just saw coming. I was really looking forward to slow smoky Johnny Cash type shit from him as he got older.

I saw him with Audioslave when he still smoked and he sounded like an old 4 barrel carb warming up and he coughed it out until he sounded ok.

A few years later he was out the House Of Blues solo and I wasn't going to go but I read he'd quit.

One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

That was the same place I saw Velvet Revolver and Weiland looked like a skeleton.

Fucking sucks.

The details are kind of vague. He had a band around his neck? Are we talking Aaron Hernandez style hanging or David Carradine style?

If he did that I'm going to be so pissed. And stop making fun of anything because for some reason whenever I make fun of something it happens to me even if indirectly.

He chokes for free all the time. His theme song should be something from INXS

maybe his package was tied up with string?

these are a few of my favorite things.

You can't look at it that way. People who are really gifted at entertaining tend to have issues with depression. Robin Williams is a really good example of this. For whatever reason they can be so good at conveying their emotions in one way, but they have demons that they battle with until they just can't do it anymore. Painters, singers, actors, writers.... it seems to be very common that they are tortured souls. Some of them find a way to deal with it, others do not. I found it extremely sad that someone like Robin Williams, who by all accounts was a truly amazing person, just could not get control of his depression. And he tried. The guy went to rehab a number of times. They just finally can't take it anymore.

My understanding about Robin was that for the last year of his life he suffered nervous disorders...MS...started having memory loss from probable alzheimers and prostate pain....I think Robin had a handle on depression, but when the body and mind killed his ability to live the life he loved, he checked out. Cornell was a junkie...apparently had been sober awhile but the dude did sing about suicide a lot.

They should have tried working a real job. Not empathetic.

Maybe some of their counselors or friends could have got them to work construction for a week or two so they knew how good they had it.

I understand mental illness is a bitch, I watched most episodes of Hoarders. We're all crazy, most of us are just too busy working to have time to complain.

No, I'm not using Hoarders as a prime example of mental illness, just that a seemingly normal person could be so nutso.

Plenty of people who work real jobs commit suicide. Sometimes they're in so much pain that they just want it to stop. Not saying it's the right move, but being rich and famous doesn't make you any less susceptible to depression. Having money doesn't automatically make people happy.

As great As they were, and as much as I loved Soundgarden, I really got into him and Morello. Man, Audioslave was some awesome stuff.....

The first Audioslave album is one of my favorites.

Its simply a perfect Albulm from start to finish. Its in my top ten all time albulms. Not even BadMotorFinger made my top ten.

Ativan is the drug that killed my favorite singer. Why the fuck any drug that can cause suicide is allowed for a non fatal ilness I'll never know.

I somehow never knew many Temple tracks outside of Say Hello To Heaven and Hunger Strike. As soon as he died I listened to the entire album and then slapped myself for not having heard the other tracks before. All so good, especially Wooden Jesus. Damn. Rip Chris

I remember not liking it because Eddie Vedder didn't sing enough. I was dumb but I changed on that 10-15 years ago.

Wow. Been jammin out on a comcrap music channel. They just played some Audioslave. What a huge loss.... Then Eddie Vedder and some Pearl Jam. Great tunes back then. Nirvana, Alice In Chains.... Tom Morello is an amazing guitarist. Him and Bruce are AWESOME together. Sorry guys, just some random thoughts tossed out here.... It's just sad to have someone like Chris, be so damn good at what he did, and then..... Anyways....
