I think Seattle gets a team long before Portland does. I don't think they should, nor does that mean I think Seattle is gay, but I think they will get a team before Portland
Really? We have an arena that's ready-made for a team. Seattle still only has Key Arena.

I’ve had another source since also say it was their understanding the NHL was likely going down I-5, and not to Seattle. But it makes some sense.
"We don’t want to target Seattle specifically. I’m not sure we ever really addressed Seattle as a specific alternative in that process," Daly said, "But I think it’s safe to say we’re very intrigued by the Pacific Northwest generally. Going forward I would expect that to the extent expansion comes into the picture or relocation is needed, I’m sure the Pacific Northwest is going to get serious consideration."
It sounds more like they're interested in Portland, not Seattle.
I would love to get a team here. I would follow the NHL if we had a team. I haven't really had much interest before, but I think an actual team would inspire me to get involved in hockey.
I would love a team too, i have never had much interest, but that's mainly because the closest teams were in Canada and San Jose. It would be much more interesting than soccer, and i could see myself becoming a fan.
Hockey is so much more fun to watch than Basketball.
And Stanley Cup Playoffs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NBA playoffs
The NFL is pretty much impossible, especially as long as LA doesn't have a team, so this is probably our only realistic chance at getting a second real pro sports team.

helps if they have an arena first.
Not a fan of the sport, but I'll take the extra work. What would their name be........

How about the Ice-Warriors!
Well, supposedly they don't care about that (if you believe the author of the article.) He said that they have plans for Key Arena, but he also said that one source told him that the NHL doesn't have any plans for Seattle outside of the negotiations that fell through for the Coyotes.
I don't buy it for a second (OK with Key Arena).
As for names, I think Buckeyes is the only one that really fits well with the history of Hockey in Portland. Rose Buds wouldn't work and Winter hawks is too close to Blackhawks (due to shared history).

Don't we have any cool animals around here?
