The Podcast Headline should be "How to be a Ballhog taking Bad shots 1vs5 ISO shit every game ignore wide open teammates while Shooting only 51% from less than 5ft this Season and incosistant af but hey i'm a max player". Don't wanna Sound like a hater, but CJ is annoying af this year and i'm tired of his Ballhog Game. He takes so many unnecessary difficult shots because he is trying to be like Kobe. He should Pass his teammates much more and trust them

Thanks for crapping on this thread. Your opinion is noted.

Gonna add this to my list. Glad he finally found a medium to support him. Yahoo Sports had decent success with JJ Reddick's pod before he jumped to the Ringer.

CJ just needs to learn how to draw fouls this summer. He takes like 17 shots a game. Turn 2 of those FGs to 4 FTAs, and his game will seem a lot more efficient. That said, I'd rather he shoot a contested two than a sorta open Aminu from the top of the key-- it's when he misses lobs to the rim and rolls to Nurk that piss me off. This will come with time I'm sure.

Nurkic's Shooting has improved the last weeks, has CJ ever played Pnr with him while Dame was on the bench? It really pisses me of how often CJ ignores him when Nurk is open in the paint or Collins is open at the top of the arc or Aminu is open in the corner, and CJ dances his way in to a contested fadeaway. All role Players Aminu, Harkless and even Evan Turner has shown they can be Really good Spot up shooters the last Couple of Weeks, imo a big reason Why the 2nd Unit is so Bad is because of CJ and his Ballhog Game, he only has a TS% of 54.5% and that's under the League Average. I'm really sick of his Game and i can understand that Harkless was frustrated at the beginning of the Season .

I'm going to agree that CJ is a ball hog. He's basically a poor man's Brandon Roy.

He doesn't pass as well as Roy. He doesn't shoot as well as Roy. He doesn't rebound as well as Roy, but the skills are there. It's a little shameful that he doesn't average at least 5 assists with Dame and Nurk out there with him.

I can't really disagree with the comparison, but at least CJ is mentally well suited to the role. Roy never would have been okay as second fiddle, playing off the ball much of the time.

Then what exactly were you trying to sound like?

CJ is critiquing the OKC-UTA series and commenting how OKC is so iso-heavy whereas UTA plays a much more team-oriented game. "Utah sets a lot of pick and rolls and have a lot of passes per possession. And they have long possessions and everyone is involved."

So he knows what team ball looks like. Why isn't he playing it? He sounds so articulate while dissecting Utah's attack so his BBIQ is no joke. We really need to see this guy with a different coach and different style of play.

1 vs 5? This is the most over used and worthless description. How does a player going iso create a 1 on 5 situation? That insinuates that 4 players would be wide open and 5 players are guarding the iso player. It's actually isolating into a 1 v 1 situation as the team will typically spread the floor pulling their defender out with them) and allowing space for the player to take his man 1 on 1. It also allows the iso player to pass to an open man if a defender comes to help. It's not a play to use all of the time but it can be an effective tool for the right player.

I was a huge Roy fan but your memory is a bit clouded. Here's a comparison between the two at the age of 25 and when Roy was still healthy. CJ is a better shooter than Roy especially at the 3 point line as well as better handles and all the other numbers aren't all that far off.

This week, Damian was interviewsi at the boys and girls club. It was interesting to hear Damian and CJ converse and slip in and out of his public speaking voice.
