CJ got a fracture in his lower back

Now opponents are going to target his back
Yeah, I don't see how he plays or at least how he will play any significant minutes if the reports are true. People can just get more physical with him, it won't need to be hitting him directly in the back, is my understanding of this injury. They can just screen him hard or body up on him, anything that makes him use the part of his core that's not stable or causing the discomfort will likely have an affect on him. He has missed so many shots that he always hits that he obviously is affected and there are ways within the rules that teams can impact him and exacerbate his discomfort which will render him even less effective.

Injury hindering shot making, but not game play. C in CJ stands for Chucker

Try doing anything with a fractured fucking back. That shit must be painful. U should be embarrassed to post about a multi millionaire playing thru a fractured back while trying to make fans like u happy.

Yeah Aldo is right and you know if he is telling you that you should be embarrassed about a post that you should because I don't think anyone in here puts up more embarrassing posts than Aldo. :emotions:

I’m not embarrassed for saying CJ is a chucker.

Sit CJ

Start Ant

Yes I know the conventional wisdom would be to start Trent, but Simons has shown that he's basically ineffective off the bench, but nearly always produces when he starts.

Bold. Times like these that I wouldn't mind having Tim Frazier or Shabazz Napier I guess.

good bye

If that is true he shouldn't be playing. For one I feel like you literally would not be able to play with such an injury and for two, you are hurting the team more than helping by doing this. Yes he is a warrior, but it isn't a positive in any way by playing through such an injury and hurting more than helping us out on the floor.
So: you're BLAMING him for playing? Isn't that kind of the Coach's call?

Excuse me? Trent went 5-11. CJ went 2-14. There is a BIG difference between those numbers.
Not to mention the D Trent played, especially against Doncic. Doncic was just giving the ball up sometimes when he had Trent on him.

He is gonna take the pain meds and keep going. Expect it.

Huh. I hadn't really thought of that.

Ant has started 5 games in his career, and in those starts averages 16ppg, .543TS5, and nearly 4 assists. It probably goes without saying this is significantly better than his bench production.

If we do rest CJ, I'd rather get Starter Ant over Bench Ant. Maybe he should get the Noah Vonleh treatment.

We can always adjust at half time. I don't think Trent will see it as a big deal, as long as he's there at the finish line.

Well, I got the Brits on my side. Works for me.

I was curious:

obvious sample size issues, and of course this doesn't include his one shining-light game from last season

what stands out to me isn't that he's actually worse as a starter, but how bad he has been overall. Trent is only 5 months older than Simons

I stand corrected.

This would kind of explain his performance, but why the fuck did Stotts play him so many minutes??

really?

here is Portland current guard roster:

CJ McCollum
Anfernee Simons
Damian Lillard
Gary Trent Jr.

that's it...there's nobody else and Simons sucks. And Trent plays a lot of SF, in part because Ariza is not playing. And the SF alternatives are Hezonja, Little, & Hoard

yeah. this is a Stotts problem, but Olshey created it
