Dame and CJ are way better than Ellis was and maybe both better than Curry too.

Arguably both better than Michael Jordan, too. We just need to find their Bill Cartwright to protect the paint, like Jordan had. Until then, it's not a fair comparison.

Wasn't that Plumlee half court shot because we had 2.4 seconds left on the shot clock?

Yes, it was all one play.

CJ got trapped on a pick and roll late in the clock.
He kept dribbling instead of pass out of it right away.
By the time he passed out of it he was trapped and his pass became a loose ball.
Which led to a jump ball, that CJ won. But Plumlee had to heave it from half court because of minimal time left on the clock.

TLDR CJ dribbled too much, like normal.

lol. okay.

Shoulda gave that last shot to Lillard....

This.
Anytime CJ is initiating offense late in games theres like a 50/50 chance it'll be a turnover.
At least Lillard will get himself or his teammates a shot.
Oh I guess CJ got Plumlee a shot from half court. So that's good. right.

Is it just me or he looked decent on defense today at times? Sorry, I was too busy watching Turner man handle Lebron.

Everyone looked decent on defense today. Hard to hold one of the strongest offensive teams to under 90 without a great defensive effort from most of the roster.

Hope it lasts.

Well, well... thats the most improved player, folks!

1. C.J. McCollum, Portland Trail Blazers

Points Per Shot from 10-16 Feet

Points Per Shot from 16-23 Feet: 0.968
Points Per Three-Point Shot: 1.266
Points Added on Jumpers Per Game: 2.351

C.J. McCollum isn't just the NBA's best shooter in 2016-17. He's adding 0.437 more points per game with his jumper than No. 2 Kyle Lowry is, which is larger than the gap (0.314) between Lowry and No. 9 Chris Paul.

Summing up the 2-guard's shooting in one word isn't a difficult task. "Smooth" has to be the answer.

Everything McCollum does is fluid. No one has been better at driving into the teeth of a defense and rising for a jumper in one quick motion. His high release gives the impression he's elevating even higher, to the point that his pull-up attempts are virtually unblockable.

Even though he's shooting 42.2 percent from downtown, a handful of players are adding more value with their three-point strokes. Kyle Korver and Kevin Durant top him from between 16 feet and the arc, though only by a negligible amount. From 10 to 16 feet, DeMar DeRozan, Shaun Livingston, Nikola Vucevic and Nikola Jokic have his number.

But no one mixes together the zones in stronger fashion. Regardless of where McCollum is shooting from, he's maintaining both his form and efficiency.

I think CJ should be All Star. He probably won't but by end of season, we will have a better record and CJ could make All NBA.

Even on a CJ appreciate Thread there are still Dame lovers knocking him down. Dame is a good player no doubt, but you have to stop with the .09 blinders. CJ has only played a year and half of real minutes. He is grown alot in such a little amount of time. How much has Dame grown? Other then taking more shots since LA, Wes and Nic have left. He is still a crappy defender, and take to many heat checks. CJ does have to work on his dribbling, and work on getting to the line. But his defense is getting better and he is a better team player. Dame is good very good but the ceiling is catching up. CJ has a long way to the ceiling.

Right now he is the go to guy when the team has nowhere to go.

CJ has an amazing awareness of time and space, and the ability to instantly act on that information. I don't think anyone in the league is better. He is still growing; I am hoping that he can expand his awareness beyond the defenders and begin to see his teammates better and factor them into his decision-making.. I think he can.

CJ and Lillard have really improved their trade values this year.

His play has been the best part of the whole season, honestly. The social media posts are just a bonus!

I disagree. I think Lillard may actually have hurt his trade value, especially over the past month.

CJ is my favorite player to watch since Strickland and Roy.
Such creativity, fluidity to his game & highlight break down moves.

The next step for CJ is to look for the assist & not only his own shot (after penetrating past the initial defender).
Takes two to tango though and CJ can't manufacture assists himself. Stotts needs to have guys cutting to the hoop for easy buckets (not just parked at the three line).
Once he incorporates easy buckets for his teammates into his game - he'll be a monster.

Couple of very nice assists in this past game against GS (really nice no looker), so he seems to be on the right track.

to your point he is down to a poultry .346 3p% on the year thats REALLY bad if you want to consider yourself a "shooter"

To put that stat into greater context Aminu shot .361 from three last year.
